The People’s Republic of Raetia is a one-party state, the Communist Party of Raetia (CPR).
Raetia is located on the southeastern side of the Grancias Continent. This solitary nation takes up approsimately 20% of Grancias. The Island of Bakushima lies approximately 500 miles south of Raetia. This nation uses European naming conventions--anything from the Ural Mountains to the Portuguese coast and from the tip of the Italian Peninsula to Iceland, Scotland and the northern tip of Norway.
The central government of the People’s Republic of Raetia is divided among several state organs;

1.	National People’s Congress (NPC): the ultimate power of the state that supervise and elects all the other organs;

2.	Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPCSC): the legislative branch;

3.	President (together with the NPCSC, act as head of state) and the Vice-President, who has no power itself, but exercise power by holding other offices;

4.	State Council (synonymous with "Central People's Government"): the executive branch, whose General Secretary is the head of government;

5.	Central Military Commission (CMC): the military branch, whose Chairman is the commander-in-chief of the national armed forces including the People's Liberation Army (PLA), the People's Armed Police (PAP), and the Militia;

6.	National Supervisory Commission (NSC): the supervisory branch;

7.	Supreme People's Court (SPC): the judicial branch;

8.	Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP): the prosecutorial branch.

The legal power of the Communist Party is guaranteed by the PRR Constitution and its position as the supreme political authority in the PRR is realized through its comprehensive control of the state, military, and media. According to a prominent government spokesman:

“We will never simply copy the system of other countries or introduce a system of multiple parties holding office in rotation; although Raetia’s state organs have different responsibilities, they all adhere to the line, principles and policies of the party.”

The National People's Congress (NPC) is the highest organ of state power and the national legislature of the People's Republic of Raetia. The National People's Congress meets in full session for roughly two weeks each year and its 748 members vote on important pieces of legislation. Members are considered to be part-time legislators and are not paid to serve in the NPC.

The majority of the power of the NPC is exercised by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPCSC), which consists of 125 legislators and meets in continuous session, when the full session of the NPC is not held. Members of the National People's Congress are allowed to simultaneously hold seats in other bodies of government and the party, and the NPC typically includes all of the senior officials in Raetian politics.

Under Raetia's Constitution, the NPC is structured as a unicameral legislature, with the de jure power to legislate, oversee the operations of the government, the supreme court, the state committee of Supervisory, the supreme procuratorate and the central military commission, and elect the major officers of state. Media sources outside Raetia commonly describe the NPC as a de facto rubber stamping body.

The NPC is elected for a term of five years. It holds annual sessions every spring, usually lasting from 10 to 14 days, in the Great Hall of the People on the west side of Telladora District in Fairview City. The NPC's sessions are usually timed to occur with the meetings of the National Committee of the People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a consultative body whose members represent various social groups.
Economy: Raetia is an upcoming nation. It has focused on industry and economic expansion for the past fifty years. Over the past twenty years, the nation has averaged an annual growth in their GDP of 6% per year. There have been several notable years where they gained 15+% in their GDP. But they lack in technology and find they must reverse engineer stolen technology. This concept has allowed them to develop an aerospace program that places a limited number of satellites in orbit around the globe. Due to its vast size of territory, Raetia has all the necessary resources to conduct day to day business but relies on imports from foreign nations for the rare resources.
Raetian Military. Any citizen of the PRR who meets the physical requirements may enlist in the People’s military regardless of gender as long as they have attained the age of 20. The citizen need not be a secondary education graduate. A serviceman may turn a four-year enlistment into a 20+ year career if they desire. The Raetian military has a professional private program for those individuals who excel as a soldier but can in no way lead others on the battlefield. A soldier can serve their entire career as a professional private. Since military service is compulsory, there are no extra benefits from having the status of veteran; all civilians over the age of 20 are veterans. If the nation were attacked, the civilian veterans would defend their home and they are trained.

The PLA is organized into four Theater Commands. There are 12 infantry divisions, 5 independent motorized infantry brigades, 11 independent mechanized infantry brigades, 9 independent armor brigades, 9 separate artillery brigades, 3 Rocket artillery brigades, and 6 airborne/air assault brigades.

Special Operations Command (SOC) The Special Operations Command is the elite arm of the Raetian Military, commanded by a Major General. These units may operate in small four man teams or larger to include platoons, Companies and Battalions to be used for raids, patrolling, long range reconnaissance and surveillance. They may be trained in High tech equipment and performing spying operations on other nations of the planet. They can be deployed anywhere around the world. The Messina SOG works for the General Secretary of the PRR.

	Messina Special Operations Group (SOG): 3,000 soldiers. The elite arm of the nation.
	Nantes SOG: 400 soldiers. This unit is equipped with high-tech equipment including unmanned aerial reconnaissance vehicles (UARVs), individual blast devices and handheld laser dazzling weapons. Every soldier from this unit must be able to run five kilometers bearing heavy equipment in under 25 minutes, complete a 400-meter obstacle course in under one minute and 45 seconds, perform 100 push-ups in a minute, and repeatedly throw grenades more than 50 meters (160 ft).
	Nostrolo Special Reconnaissance Group (1st SRG): 1000 soldiers. This special operations unit is capable of air-, sea-, and land-operations, similar to U.S. Navy SEALs. Basic training for this unit includes cross-country running, climbing, swimming and shooting. The soldiers must also be familiar with operating 15 advanced technologies including GPS navigation, night vision, and photo reconnaissance.
	Duringian SOG: 1500 soldiers. This unit is specialized in target locating and indicating, airborne insertion, sabotage and offensive strikes, and emergency evacuation. The unit was also used to experiment with new advanced concept equipment and tactics, including the digitized army soldier system and high-mobility land weapon platforms.
	Gallo SOG: 1200 soldiers. This unit is trained to complete missions on the ground and in the air and water, as well as surviving in the wilderness alone or in small groups. The unit is said to place special focus on survival skills; it often breaks protocol by increasing this training by two-thirds, forcing soldiers to spend three to four months in difficult environments such as forests, mountains, deserts and grasslands with no man-made shelter or food. Soldiers in the unit are trained on multiple transport vehicles for roads, railroads, waterways, and in the air. Individual members of the unit have reportedly completed parachute landings more than 5,000 times and logged scuba diving training of more than 1,000 hours.
	Vaison SOG: 2,000 soldiers. This is a Commando Regiment
	Amurica SOG: 2,000 soldiers. This is a Commando Regiment
