[@PharaohAtem] Lol that's a lotta lecture, but I gotta tell you this ain't my first illusory rodeo and I have invested a lot of time, effort, and research into writing them. Also, Naruto special eyes may be least favorite example of illusions of all time. It is just very lazy. I love specificity when I write special abilities, because rules make a magic system far more believable. That is why Leval's abilities are always very grounded and have costs- magic has a cost on his energy and he takes a ton of damage in combat. I could have Leval pull a million extra abilities outta his butt like trapping them in a mental landscape or hypnotizing them but it would feel like power gaming and therefore less interesting. Natural progression is slower but more rewarding. Leval's is already fantastic at making illusions and overall mana control (that why its written as threads of mana to make a weave), his biggest weaknesses is just his low level of mana capacity which will improve over time and how the creatively he can use that mana control. As for the other powers, yeah in a high power setting like this for sure its easier, which is why I think a more subtle illusion in the middle of combat where everything is already distracting would have a much higher degree of working.
