[@SilverPaw] well they're are different branches of the ten families and then there is the main branch , main branch is the one that has the short life spans , but if your character is not apart of the main branch then that is one way he could be related , and then kids from other branches show their "worthyness" I guess you could say to the family by becoming a ranker which allows them to be brought into the main branch
