Backstory: Before the alien invasion, Marcus worked as a member of the British Armed Forces. As a front-line infantry unit, he has experience in both engaging in battlefields to basic leadership. His peers admired his courage and bravery in the face of overwhelming odds, and his capability to take over command when necessary.

After the alien invasion, he joined the Rise Resistance against the Alien Overlords as a Commander of a Recon team named The Rise 35th Battalion, named after his prior group that went down to save his life against the Aliens. His unit's task as their Commander was routine recon missions around Rise Outposts searching for survivors and refugees, and any civilians / members of surviving military's under attack by the Aliens.
