Eric would have gasped if he were in human form. The same went for Emily. Emily flew into the air, having had experience from turning into a duck and such, plus she was a quick learner. She tried to attack the snake.

Erics' eyes went wide. He charged forth. He may have been in the body of a mongoose, but he was not about to stand by and let Emily attack the snake by herself, not to mention he was not about to let Aela be alone and having to protect herself against a fierce looking creature like that.

Eric bit the snakes' tail. Emily tried to claw at it's eyes.

The serpents tail was hard it’s scales were as sharp as a sword. It lowered its head to the earth as Emily tried to fly in. Aela paused and moved forward with a hand stretched out. Her flames lowered in intensity. The serpent waited patiently and didn’t attack instead it moved closer to Aela. “Emily, Eric, it doesn’t seem to want to hurt us. Lower your guard for now. Eric, did you read anything about a guardian of the swamp? Something to scare off mortals or those who wished harm on the kingdom of magic? Just call out with an animal noise for yes. And remain silent for a no.”

Emily narrowed her eyes. She flew back to the ground. Eric narrowed his eyes as well. He ran over to Aelas' side. They glanced at each other when she asked about a swamp guardian. They would have frowned if they were in human form. Emily made a soft hawk sound. Eric stayed silent. Not all the books he read were the same as the ones Emily read. However, after a couple moments, Eric made a sound as well. He remembered the book he showed Aela, with that information he and Emily told Aela before.

Aela began to stroke the smooth scales of the serpent. Hearing Eric and Emily’s response she looked at the snake. “You know that your the first magical creature I’ve met?” It breathed out as it did white flames left its nostrils. The flames licked Aela’s hurt shoulder instantly her graze healed. “Thank you. For helping me. Me and my friends need help making it to the mountain range can you help us get there and the next step? We just want help, I promise we don’t wish harm on anyone or anything.”

The serpent raised it’s head again and waited for Eric and Emily to get onto its back. Aela grabbed her pack their bags and other supplies they brought and joined on his back.

Eric and Emily blinked. They glanced at each other. They would have sighed had they been in human form. Then, they looked at Aela again. They both listened as she spoke with the creature. They did not like this. However, they humored Aela and got onto the serpents' back. They waited for Aela.

Once Aela gathered everything, she joined the twins on the serpents back. She patted it gently and it began to move swiftly toward the cliffs. Aela beamed "This is the coolest thing I have ever done magic wise..that is." The serpent paused by the face of the rock cliffs the mountain range seemed long. Aela was unsure where she needed to guide her friends through using fire. Although the ride certainly cut out maybe a day's worth of walking.
"Let's find a cave to camp out for the rest of the night, Eric and Emily."

"Thank you." Aela hugged the serpent who lowered it's head to back to the earth before her.

Eric and Emily both got off of the Serpents' back quickly. They both looked at Aela and waited. Eric was quiet. Emily glanced around for a moment or two.

Eric would have frowned a bit if he were in human form. He saw Aela hugging that Serpent. Emily would have sighed if she were in human form and had seen that.

Anyway, they waited for Aela and they would go with her to find a cave to rest in for the rest of the night.

Aela finished hugging the snake and saw it off as it disappeared into the swamp. She turned looking for Emily and Eric for where they ran off too. Something was bothering her, if the serpent was actually kind.. then the spiders might be the actual danger. The only problem being do they have nests in the caves of the cliffs? Aela was able to catch up with Emily and Eric.

"That was pretty cool wouldn't you say?"

Emily would have shrugged if she were in human form. Eric would have done the same thing. Anyway, they simply made mild sounds associated with the animals they had turned into because of the curse. They both glanced around the cave for a moment before they looked at Aela again. Emily flew and landed near her. Eric ran over and stopped near her. He had to really raise his head to look at her since he had turned into a rather small animal.

Emily gave a look associated with a sigh. Eric gave the same look after a moment or two.

Aela gently stroked Emily’s head and knelt for Eric to climb up on her shoulder. “Thanks you two for having my back. That was very brave of both of you. Now you two should take it easy. However, there could be spiders in the cave. I have a feeling those spiders might be the ones attacking anyone or anything. And maybe due to being so many the serpent had to move it’s home. Take a look at this cave. It looks like scratches all along the walls. Or metal scales.

Emily glanced away, which would have been interpreted as a shy reaction to being thanked if she were in human form. Eric hid his face. That was certainly a shy reaction.

Anyway, they blinked and looked at her at the mention of spiders. They would have frowned, but they couldn't at the moment. They both glanced around the cave rather silently. Eric sniffed the air a bit.

Aela smiled at Emily's and Eric's shy or embarrassed responses to her praise. Although she stood up feeling the carvings of the caves. Eric was able to smell something off putting deep inside. It seemed like it was an okay place to camp out for the night.

But a sense of dread washed over Aela. She summoned a flame into her palm and threw it down the cave as it moved several cocoons were revealed with webs and black bodies of huge spiders descended upon the flame instantly towards the back of the tunnel they were in. Shrieks began to echo all over, it only lasted a few moments before complete silence once again.

"We should be okay if we don't go in too far. And since we were with the serpent maybe the spiders would sense it and stay away."

Emily and Eric both looked at Aela. Emily looked nervously towards the back of the cave, where the flame was thrown. Eric did the same thing, thought he did not look as nervous as Emily did. After a few moments, they both looked at Aela again. They could not really nod. But, they did have looks in their eyes that said that they understood.

Emily went quiet, as if to about to try and rest. Eric did the same thing. They both stayed close to Aela.

Aela found a wall that would shield her from the outside cold air. She sat down and leaned against it. She didn't bother starting a fire in case it would attract the spiders. She decided to sleep in the darkness close to the entrance which the moonlight poured in providing herself and her friends some moonlight.

As hours passed and the dread never really vanished Aela was able to hear a faint clicking from above her she stood up quickly and turned to it. The last thing she remembered before blacking out.

Emily and Eric both tried to rest. Time passed. Then, they heard the clicking sound. They gasped, or they would have if they were in human form. Emily screeched. Eric made an almost similar sound. They tried to help. Emily flew out of the cave to see if she could get the Serpents' help, despite not having a human voice. Eric tried to attack the spider(s), despite his size. He did not want them to get away with Aela.

The spiders hiss as they begin to close in around Eric and the unconscious Aela. The spider in front of Eric hisses all eight eyes trained on him. The large spider was almost the size of a horse. This one was an adult and it was determined on getting it's food. The Silvia dripping from it's mouth contained a toxin that had knocked Aela out cold.

As Emily soared looking for the serpent, her strong eyes were able to spot the serpent seeming to be asleep in the swamp. It's body covered each inch of the swamp area.

Eric kept making noises at the spider. Hissing and everything. He was determined, even if it meant the spiders having him for dinner instead.

Emily spotted the serpent. She flew towards it. She cried out and everything. She did her best to try and get its' attention. She was in a panic, which would make it clear that something was wrong.

Eric, back at the cave, continued to stare down the spider and everything.

The serpent awoke and glanced up at Emily it moved slightly as it raised it's head toward the sky.

The spiders continue to close in. Until from behind Eric is a shot of black flames. Once it hits the spiders they scream and slowly become ash. The black flames continue to burn, Aela was huffing a bit struggling to sit up. The toxin was still in her system and it was hard to move or summon mana.

Emily screeched and cried. She was getting desperate. She tried to get the serpent to follow her. Her behavior showed fear and such.

Eric turned towards Aela. He ran to her at first. But, then he turned back towards the spiders. He continued to try and keep the spider from her, despite his small size. He would soon notice that Emily had flown off. He was concerned, but he had a fight on his hands. He had to keep the spider away from Aela, or so he felt.

The serpent glanced up at Emily and moved slowly turning in the direction she was headed off and followed Emily toward that direction.

Aela glanced at Eric who approached her, her arm was stretched out she huffed a few times. “Hey..Eric I’m sorry I was a bit careless...I’m okay...my hero.”
