Kire had intended to stay awake at least long enough to make sure he was able to sleep, but tired from the battle and from the gate ritual she ended up drifting in and out of sleep repeatedly. Still, every time she managed to keep her eyes open, she gently stroked his back, the way she would before for her younger cousins whenever they had nightmares. She was only vaguely aware of Ysaryn coming in with a blanket and pillows, pulling one towards her to rest her head before she finally dozed off properly, still clutching him softly. When she did finally stir again, it was already morning, though she couldn't tell down there. The temperature inside woke her up, then Ysaryn's presence got her to move, though only slightly, not wanting to wake him. "Mm. I bet," she murmured sleepily. She observed him for a few moments. He seemed better. "Thank you for the warning. Please let her know we'll be up later. He hadn't dozed off immediately, I think. He needs a bit longer." She paused, then smirked at her. "I'm sure Ed is eager, too. We'll go back to camp later." After Ysaryn left, Kire slowly sat up and drank a little of the water, Ruli's arm across her lap. She stayed that way, observing him as she waited to see if he would wake. When he didn't, she lay back down, attempting to go back to sleep. She woke again, just before noon. Softly, she touched his cheek. "Hey," she whispered. "Ruli? Thirsty? There's water here." She paused, waiting for him to wake properly. "How are you feeling?"
