Look, I get it. Darc's a dick right now. I'm sure all of you want to beat him up because he has the audacity to speak his mind and trying to move the plot forward. By all means I encourage you to debate with him IC if you really think his ideas are bad and you have a better one. Pick a fight even if you believe that's what your character would do. Do something at least, less we spend much of our time waxing poetics instead of driving the plot forward.

What's the Dungeon look like from the outside?

A mountain fortress would be the most effective. Gives us the high ground to spot any enemies that might come at us an mass. Thus only smaller groups of adventurers would be able to approach unnoticed, which will be easier to deal with.

Structure: What are the rules and floors made of?

Stone probably? I mean if we can get something fancier like some cool black rocks and iron I won't be against it. Probably whatever isn't too flammable.

Lighting: What lights the Dungeon and how dark is it?

Magic lights are usually pretty good. Mainly so we can turn it off when mortals come and cut visibility. Not sure how many of us have some form of darkvision, but every advantage we can get in our fortress is better.

Atmospherics: What sounds and smells greet those who enter.

For a fortress, probably a mountain breeze scent. Alternatively a very strong, almost wretched stench that may sicken mortals with weaker constitution and foul up scent based detection.

Hoard: What makes up the piles of treasure in your hoard?

Gold would probably be the easiest. Either that or weapons. Trade in steel or gold for goods and services.

@Lucius Cypher So I wasn't trying to insinuate that I wanted to kill your character or anyone elses characters, as a matter of fact Zaz'ak wouldn't gain anything from killing any of you as together we are strong and can do stuff easier. Also Zaz'aks skin doesn't burn, it's hard for him to see in daylight.

Perhaps not, but since we're basically playing a villain campaign assassinating each other is hardly surprising. I'm just making it clear that Darc is no sycophant and he will speak his thoughts often and he'll likely hurt your feelings you in the process. Talk shit get hit, so Darc wouldn't be surprised if people would try to kill him for speaking out.

Also Zaz'aks skin doesn't burn, it's hard for him to see in daylight.

off to bed for the night folks, but I'm going to leave you with some questions now the dungeon votes are in ;D



You can pass if you don't have any opinions and we can always adapt it as we go. But it'd be good to start thinking about how we want our dungeon to be as it's one of the cores of the roleplay.

What's the Dungeon look like from the outside?
Is it a natural cave entrance? An abandoned church? the trunk of a rotting tree? ect

Structure: What are the rules and floors made of?
Cold Stone? Mud and roots? slick back obsidian? ect

Lighting: What lights the Dungeon and how dark is it?
Torches in sconces? magma in the halls? magical illumination? flourescent mushrooms? ect

Atmospherics: What sounds and smells greet those who enter.
fetid swamp water? overwhelming incense? sulphur and brimstone? rotting flesh? ect

Hoard: What makes up the piles of treasure in your hoard?
Gold? glowing crystals? stacks of weapon and armor? piles of junk and artifacts? chests with rare metals? ect

Let's try something a little more low key, I also feel like I'm not getting a lot of say in the appearance of our dungeon. I'd like one part of our dungeon to appear like something I'd like as should everyone too.

What's the Dungeon look like from the outside?

Semi-natural cave entrance with stairs where necessary, gradually designed to facilitate an army in marching inward and outward.


Structure: What are the rules and floors made of?

Granite, sandstone, limestone, materials with enough hardness to take long-lasting form when carved.


Lighting: What lights the Dungeon and how dark is it?

Dim enough that minions can still hide, but with magical illumination where necessary using fluorescent crystals. The monsters may need a certain air conditioning to keep their hotheadedness low and their rage controlled. This doesn't sound going well with heat-producing light sources.


Atmospherics: What sounds and smells greet those who enter.

An overwhelming scents from special incenses that act as the monsters' aromatherapy but might smell weird for upworlders. The temperature and humidity might change from chambers to chambers in order to facilitate each monster lord's preference but overall cool. The imp workers are chanting certain songs in unison as how Baganaria taught them during their probation employment.


Hoard: What makes up the piles of treasure in your hoard?

Magic crystals that makes the magical illumination highly sustainable and can also be used as an alternative heat-source necessary for the Smithy when refined.

TBH I was waiting for the drow to speak up of his preferred dungeon type, expecting him to choose either enclave or temple. As the votes are tied to one type for each monster, my character then choose the Forge, allying myself with the slime.

I think I messed the OOC in fashioning it to be inline with my IC. lol

From my understanding we're getting a stronghold because that's what Poohead choose when we were still a 4-way split. I'm not against a stronghold myself but as you mentioned @VeyrinDay we're mostly waiting for someone to actually speak up any alternatives.

OoC the vote's for the Stronghold. IC Darc is the only one who proposed a dungeon choice and he choose Forge.

@Lucius CypherNo problem, I can adjust the narratives.

Stronghold was actually my preference other than Forge, but having 1st person PoV as my preference with high amount of introspection, that it is highly susceptible to other partner's mind reading OOC, I chose not to say anything.

in short, I messed my OOC with my IC, but I can adjust for the future progression in regard of the system.

Eh, metagaming is always a hard thing to balance. Too specific and yeah, people read your post and their future actions are influenced by what they know. Too vague and they may later get angry about how you're making things too confusing and vague.

That being said, you can at least act upon OoC of your own character. While I know everyone else has a different idea for what the dungeon should be, Darc only knows what he wants a Forge. So he told everyone he wants a forge and tries to sell the idea. He's currently annoyed that no one really seems to be offering a counter idea and so far Zaz'ak is the only one who rebukes it, and atm Darc is waiting to hear the rebuttable. And while I know that you initially choose a temple, IC Darc knows that Baganaria is holding her opinion to be a potential tie breaker, which isn't much of a problem for him. He expects others to have differing opinions which is why he's trying to sell the idea in the first place, even though I myself know that you all choose something I didn't.

Even now he'll still try to vote for the forge until everyone casts a vote verbally, and OoC I'm totally ready to work towards a stronghold if that's what we choose IC. Ya basically just gotta adapt back and forth which is also why I just make Darc matter very blunt and straight forward to just drive the point onwards instead of going around in circles.
