This seems like Redline with pilot's which is absolutely my bag.

I've gone ahead and added the CS skeleton so people can get an idea of what racers they'd like to make.

I'm currently debating how over the top I want my character to be.

I'm here to make sure we go even faster, it seems.

Also, we still have time for more people to apply if there's any interest.

• Background: A mysterious who has made a name for herself in underground racing circuits, known as Warpstar among her peers, she's now ready to join the big league under the sponsorship of one of Mevalo Corp's subsidiary brands, the G-Force Energy Drink. Some rumors about her past say that she might have acquired her piloting skills after working as an agent for a certain peacekeeping organization dedicated to dealing with gigantic planetary threats. While Lydia's skills certainly match their style, these rumors still remain nothing but rumors. She neither confirms nor denies them. The reason why she's racing is simple, though: Money to keep both herself and her craft in shape. Maintenance for military gear and cyborg bodies isn't exactly cheap after all.

Lydia's pride and joy, an old friend from many battles. It's unknown how she got her hands on such a kind of bleeding-edge military hardware, but its speed, maneuverability, and—when allowed—firepower give her an edge above the competition. The exact specs of her craft are known only to Lydia, but it seems to include at least a pair of powerful ion thrusters for the primary propulsion system, high maneuverability thrusters, and an AI-assisted weapons system counting with twin light pulse laser cannons, hypervelocity missiles, magnetic mines, and a protective ion shield.

Just some tech I was thinking about including on my Ark Gear to set it apart. Does it seem appropriate?

Omni-Magnetic Effective Force Wheels: Ark Riders aren't bound to a track like the racers of old, but most Space Races aren't simple point a to b straight line sprints across dead space either. Whether weaving through a canyon or soaring between skyscrapers, there's often some terrain to spice things up.

That's where these come in. A omni-magnetic field around a rotating wheel provides a "wheel" that can grip and pull on anything that's something. While useless in empty space, these wheels can provide minimal thrust on something like standard atmosphere, moderate on liquids or heavy gas, and the real deal on any solid surface like earth or buildings.

It doesn't care about unevenness or gaps or gravity, as the 'friction' isn't provided by weight, which is very necessary when what your 'track' is the occasional skyscraper. Getting too close can result in crashing into something if there's a sudden elevation change in what you're grabbing a boost from, because unlike a physical wheel you have nothing 'pushing off' from your surface, but Mahari quite enjoys the daredevil thrill in exchange for those little extra boosts of speed.

Normally, an advantage of these Force Wheels is that they can quickly reverse to create breaking thrust, but Mahari has had hers tweaked to be able to build up rotational energy far in excess of it's breaking power, making them far less reactive.

Energy Missiles: Of course, some Ark Rider races ARE in empty space or atmosphere for significant chunks of the race, so what's Mahari to do with all the power normally devoted to her Force Wheels during those parts of the race? Open fire, obviously.

Energy Missiles are, before deployment, lightweight, collapsed constructions about the size of a hand grenade. When pulled into a launcher by an auto-feeder, they unfold, creating the skeletal frame of a missile with a tiny thruster and a force emitter at the front. Then they're charged up, visible electricity arcing around inside the frame of the missile, electricity as both fuel and payload.

Upon finding their target, the force emitter at the front burns itself out in one burst of omni-magnetic force, using up all remaining power to send out what ends up being functionally like an invisible swordslash rather than a conventional exploding missile.

These missiles are very maneuverable and fast due to their tiny mass, but don't have that much punching power and also become weaker at longer ranges due to the same electricity being used for both maneuvering and attacking. However, the tiny size and weight of the missiles pre-unfolding allows Mahari to bring along plenty of them. She's also tweaked them so that the normally invisible slashes and white glowing missiles are instead a crimson color, purely for style.

The Omni-Magnetic Effective Force Wheels sound like something standard and issued by Mevalo for their Ark Gear. Since this is the future, I'd imagine most standard vehicles would have a system similar to this to keep them on tracks anyway. That said, the way in which she uses them, ergo getting faster with how close she is to a surface, is very distinctly her own style and unique to her.

Just my thoughts on that. The energy missiles are fine.

Name: Rema Tiberius

Title: Gladiator

Age: 98 years since her manufacturing date.

Background:

Developed as a entertainment droid for an advanced race from the milky way, she served in the arena as a gladiator. She was designed deliberately to reference Roman history and culture, a throwback to draw attention as the ancient warrior went up against all the power of current technology. Her stint in the arena involved chariot racing, which she showed great talent with. Surprisingly she became one of the best fighters and racers in the known galaxy, and was only prevented from becoming a racing champion by the destruction of the race that created her by it's enemies. Tiberius fought in the war in defense of her civilization and was an able warrior, but the numerous enemies ensured her creator's defeat.

As a lone survivor of a long gone people both ancient and current, Rema wandered around for fame and fortune, determined to write her name across the stars in the honor of her old Roman gods. Rema is determined to destroy the assumption that the future is any more advanced than the past that came before it. Rema proudly enjoys her anachronism, and insists her war chariot style racing is still eternally unmatched by anything present racers can throw at her.

Ark Gear:

Her war chariot is fashioned and named after a roman goddess of war, Belladona. Two android horses named Castor and Pollux man the machine, painted in old bronze and with bright red eyes. Each horse is equipped with highly illegal nitro thrusters that can easily get thousands of miles clocked if the safety restraints are turned off. Being machines they do not want for any need and adjust themselves to any situation with advanced neural AIs. The war chariot's looks can be deceiving, as it's fitted with much of the latest hardware. Titanium steel to hit hard and take little damage, anti gravity pulse generators on the bottom to adjust and lift for any rough terrain. Tiers that are made with hard compact treads that can bear the brunt of any rough surface known to exist. The chariot is designed to be nimble, quick and aggressive. Spikes on either sides of the wheels that could puncture a spaceship hull with Rema herself able to use her javelin, spears, and sword and ancient weaponry to attack from each side of the driver's seat. It's bold, reckless, and created to decimate her opponents without mercy.
