Yeah, I guess that ties in with the need to keep strength up to some degree as well. 
I'm not sure how regularly pilots use NV equipment, though I suppose it's a lot more frequent nowadays than it used to be, and I'm not sure what kind it is, but I guess it's not going to be much smaller or lighter than any of the stuff used anywhere else.
