The Timekeeper noted Klava's warning about some golem behind him, but he couldn't care. His attacks were deflected in a vicious cycle, any maneuvering around the larger blade failed again and again. He couldn't afford to care, he could work with stalling until something happened. And well, it did. Just not in his favor. The boy only had what felt like a second to realize why Betty went on the defense, and brought his weapon up to block the corrupted esper's counterattack. Admittedly, he had forgotten about Bob. Or maybe he thought the Maiden could handle the robotic pain in the neck. He was given one hell of a reminder when he got slammed against the aformentioned Bob. Fable didn't have time to react to his spine possibly being broken when he was knee'd in the gut soon after. Whether or not by survival instincts, he mustered whatever strength he had in pushing Betty back, a tight grip on Aeterna. Yet despite his efforts, the smaller esper was trumped by the other's strength. Madness and Wrath stared eachother in the eye, Fable only glaring back in response to Betty's taunt. But there was also a hint of sadness he tried to bury. Why was he still holding back? Anger be damned, why didn't he want to hurt her? Why did any of this pain him now? When he hurt Mary, or killed Jan, he only spared regrets after it was said and done. So how was this any different? The boy's thoughts were interrupted by Bob preparing to detonate the area. Oh right, they managed to kill Jane. Though he'd assume a bomb being set off would be saved for late or post-operation. Perhaps he played too many video games. Fable overheard the weird ghost dude's plans of stalling his team by himself. Great. Take down one stupidly strong idiot and another takes his place. The boy hissed in pain as Betty's weapon dug into his shoulder in her escape. He slid down to the ground, wiping away any pained tears to see what was left of the red-haired lady approaching him. His expression blanked out into indifference. He took a moment to breathe, took a moment to decide if he should heal up and stay, or to blink and go after Betty and the remaining pyromancers. ...Perhaps Klava's original plan could still work. Part of him didn't want to leave the others behind. But someone had to get ahead, go after their fleeing opponents. Fable looked the undead Red in the eye, and glared at her in disgust. "Piss off." He growled, firing a lightning bolt to blink behind the zombie, and sprinted on ahead with a hand covering his wounded shoulder.
