*Behind a panel with a universal cabinet lock sits a series of video inputs and outputs for the safety monitoring systems, connected to a central breakout box via cracked and weathered cables, and output to a single video port that connects to the main display*
I... really don't like this.
*Steps backwards out of the room and back toward the larger monitoring system*
Just let me know when you're done.

Will do. Shouldn’t be long.
*Tries to pan through the various feeds*

*Each feed provides a high resolution stream of various system health indicators and statuses, along with diagrams of the nuclear plant, each section highlighted green to indicate its current safety level*

They need to take better care of something so volatile.
*Checks the cable connections for any loose or disconnected displays*

Everything okay in there?
*One display cable has a broken connection in the breakout box doesn't properly feed the signal to the inputs*

Hmm.
*Unplugs it, and carefully uses the blade from earlier to superheat the wire and solders connections together before plugging it back in*

*A new display automatically adds itself to the board, this one showing the individual CPU usage of each component in the plant, the emergency response system responsible for the above-average general usage statistics, and a historical record of another recent spike in the steam control system, which has since decreased to normal levels of activity*
Hey, whatever you did got us a new feed. This one has processor load.

Yeah and there’s a couple of spikes that are strange. Almost makes it seem like someone broke in?… We may not be alone.

We need to watch each other's back. You've designed about a million things—where would someone have broken in that would cause a spike in nothing but the steam controller? Think it messed up the reservoir pressure or something?

Steam in conventional nuclear power plants is used for the actual power itself. Wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that someone came here for power in quantities you can't get elsewhere. What in your world would use a lot of power, that maybe wouldn't be considered acceptable in the public eye?

That's exactly right... and if they hooked it up to some new output, it would cause a temporary drop in pressure before restabilizing, requiring more CPU cycles to compensate.

But what? What were they trying to power?

That's what I thought you were doing during that transformation sequence!
*Fires a yellow, slow moving bubble toward the beast, and then starts blasting it with attacks*

I’m winging this transformation thing! Call it a gut feeling!

*Stumbles backward, using the momentum to swing the aqua sword back at you*

*dashes to the side in mid air, a spear tip forms just outside of my gun’s barrel*
Lighting Javelin!!
*in a loud bang I fire a massive lighting spear into your chest*

Nothing jumps out at me. It’s a weird way to power something, unless you’re really looking to not get caught.

Doesn’t look like we’re going to get any more detail than “sometime the past week” unless you can find more of those busted cables.
