Kacela arrived at the college. She had just come from a straight flight and long bus ride. Papers in one hand and suitcase in the other. Her filled back pack weighing her down, but it was a regular weight. Something she was accustomed to and even found comfort in it. As the bus hissed and its doors opened for her, she nodded to the bus driver as she departed. The driver drove off as soon as she had taken a few steps away. Kacela was nervous of course, the day was still beautiful and golden bright. She liked the sun, it was bright and beautiful to her. She gripped her suitcase reassuringly and let the memories of her past life slip away. She embraced her new life with a deep breath. A long sigh later, she walked up the small pathway to the college. Its huge gates were cool to look at. Kacela was unfamiliar with how things went and how she should act. But she decided to just remain as quiet and unseen as possible. Though it was tough with her pale skin and golden hair. She stood out horribly and she knew it. But she didn't dare use her gift in the presence and possibility of other seeing her. This was her secret, and she intended to keep it. As she made her way to the office, she noticed the school was in full swing and ushering in new students. She was late, but it didn't matter. She was excused and allowed extra time to prepare. She remembered the letter she sent, explaining her situation. And then the phone conversations, she was surprised that they accepted her on a full ride. She was sad, but mostly glad to be here now. She entered the front office with the lingering thoughts. Before her thought process was crushed by a voice. "Dear? Do you need help?" "Uhm.... Yes.... I'm new here....." "Great! Would you mind coming over here so i can see you?" "Mhm...." "Oh! Look at you, you're beautiful, now do you have papers? And whats your name dear?" "Kacel Thu'um... And here are my papers...." "Why thank you, just wait a minute while i check you in. And did you have a nice trip?" "Mmmhhmmmmm....." "Not talkative, i understand." "........." "Great, you requested a room by yourself? Just head over to the womans dorms and they'll set you up with a room. Okay? Have a great day!" ".....Thanks......" Kacela was not too horribly shocked by the desk lady. She was sweet and old. But now Kacela just wanted to get to her room and get set up. She wanted to take school seriously, but she wasn't sure how it would be. She was home schooled her entire life. She wasn't sure if she would meet their standards, sure she had lower tier classes, but that didn't mean they wouldn't be just as difficult. Kacela briskly walked to her room, once she had it, she deemed it a smart idea to go exploring. Learning where she would spent a great deal of her time was a positive plan. She nodded to herself and quickly went to her dorm. Passing few people as most of the students were focused on clubs and what not. Classes were not in session yet as it was still early. Kacela was efficiently guided to her room and she found it sparse and empty. Just the way she liked it, simple and effective. Nothing but a private place to be when she needed it. Though honestly, she was just as comfortable with sleeping in the woods as any bed. Almost preferring the forest. When she had unbagged her things and set up her room, she checked the watch. It was getting past morning quickly, she had the day free to explore. So when went out and began to wander aimlessly, taking it all the sights, sounds, smells, and feelings of where she went. Putting everything to memory. Her heart glowed with the new possibilities. Just thinking about living here made her much happier now that she was set up to stay.
