Being the witness of both, Susanoo would only watch as her older sister, Tsukiyomi stop at nothing to be with her wife.  Often, it came at the expense of their relationship, as it very quickly became apparent just where exactly Tsukiyomi's priorities lied.

Once a close pair of siblings, once her older sister became drunk with infatuation, a rift appeared and tore the two apart, and what was once love for her sister became an ever-growing void of resentment and anger. By extension, Susano resented Amaterasu for stealing her older sister away from her. 

It was only when Susanoo was told of Tsukiyomi and Amaterasu's (fortunate) split when Susanoo's resentment of the both of them grew exponentially. Despite all that Amaterasu had done to hurt her older sister, she continued her path to rekindle what was, instead of returning to being her older sister like they once were. As a result, Susanoo unleashed her power upon the land, destroying numerous fields and killing livestock as an attempt to get her sister's attention back, only falling on deaf ears instead. 

However, Susanoo knew that she couldn't protest too much, as she was the one ultimately responsible for her. As the eternal night spread throughout the world, one of the only upsides to it was that Susanoo was allowed to fully rule over her domain and reach its maximum power, but it was also then that this was not a sustainable way to exist. Not for Amaterasu, not for Tsukiyomi, and most definitely not for Susanoo.

The sea could not bear to exist in the shadow of the moon for so long.

Susanoo was only disappointed to find out that it was about as far from the case as it possibly could be. An everlasting anger within Susanoo only grew, and it came out various storms that would devastate the lands that the mortals inhabited. 

If there was one thing that Tsukiyomi and Susanoo had in common, however, it was how sickening the mortals' behavior was. All the violence and bloodshed over the most menial of things. It made Susanoo resent humanity, and she wondered why exactly they were allowed to exist the way they were for so long. From time to time, that resentment would boil over again, resulting in devastating hurricanes that would wipe out lands and leave many mortals' lives in ruin.

Eventually, Susanoo figured out the perfect way to use the mortals' greed in her favor and channel it somewhere that would benefit her more. Establishing a boating company, Susanoo bought up a few boats and used the resulting wealth to snowball into the oceanic superpower it is today. Nobody paid half a mind as to why the CEO of the company looked very similar every time, but it was quickly dispelled by telling everyone about "strong genetics". 

However, beyond the surface of the Nami Oceanic Endeavors corporation is an operation in Susanoo's benefit. For many decades, the corporation has been looking for ways to not only harness, but enhance the ocean's power so that one day Susanoo can break free from the shadow of her sister and be able to send her message in a way that could not be ignored at all.
