This is just me spitballing so feel free to disregard it but would something like the hardening of air work as a power for you? 

You could shape it to some degree perhaps. 

Instead of flight you can run on footholds you make in the air, the blades are easy to imagine and then you could even say they harden the air around them to nullify some attacks. 

It's 1 power that with some creative use could get similar effects to what you'd like.
