good old hey arnold. I don't recall that scene at all tho xD
I for some reason remember the gist of that episode of Hey Arnold after years of not seeing it. So I might be the true oddity here. XD Helga's Mom tried to encourage her dad to get to know her more, because yeah Helga's sister is the star idol of the family and the obvious favorite and Helga has basically always been second fiddle. So her father tries awkwardly at first to do something, but doesn't get through or a good idea, until Helga leaves behind a magazine or such with some Wrestling event she wishes she could go to (this is Helga after all) on her bed. But the wind flips the page to some Broadway-type play about "Rats" before her dad goes in the room, and seeing the magazine he thinks 'eh, its strange but if she likes that sort of things sure i'll take her....its the least I can do to try'. Cue the two at the play with tickets, and its incredibly awkward because neither like it and want to see it after it starts. Her father then admits seeing the magazine open on her bed, and Helga takes note of this as him having wanted to try to really bond with her better. On the other hand, they end up truly bonding at the end of the episode by making fun of and heckling the play without restraint (I think?).
