[@EmiliaBaiYue] well that's why the plan is for this to be the academy training cruise, essentially the "final test" for Starfleet Academy officers. You'll be going on proper Starfleet missions, just as cadets acting in the role of officers overseen by a commissioned captain and trained technical staff.

The idea is on top of standard Star Trek plot shenanigans, the captain will be arranging various "tests" to see how you perform, to mix things up a bit.
