I nuzzle into Nero's neck, placing a kiss in the soft tissue just below their ear. I turn and walk back to the bed, so Nero has something taller to stand on. They still don't quite meet my height but they don't have to dangle from my neck anymore.

I pull my head from Nero's neck and look from their eyes to their lips, remembering how they tasted at the restaurant. I swallow and force my eyes back to theirs.
