The Triarian vessels quickly corrected themselves as they flew of course, and any endangered ships spun and swerved with surprising grace to avoid their ballistic allies. The energy projectors mounted on the space stations were shot and scythed across the location of the cloaked vessel, one for each Corvette. The Triarian ships glided up, countless ships launching from within the bowels of the manufactorums that were carved deep into the rock of the planets in the system in a continuous stream, filling the space above the planets with ships as the defense grids fired. Over a million defense turrets fired in unison, their plasma filling the black of space, making a beautiful display as it flew towards them. Through the dazzling display, energy projectors cut through like knives, splitting their way through the void of space. After the initial attacks of the defence grid, the fleets themselves came into play. Hundreds of thousands of ships fired together, another brilliant display of deadly beauty as they opened fire. Communications were quickly sent out from Triarius, declaring the cradle has been attacked. Not even the Draconians, in their attacks, had been able to dislodge the Triarii from their ancestral home world, and the reason for that was quickly clear. Its defences were the culmination of millennia of construction and upgrading, its Manufactorums filled with ships which could be launched in an emergency, the systems planets all filled with such manufactorums or defences. The value of 'Cradle Worlds' to the Collective went against much of their usual behavior, but it was an integral part of their society. For the Triarii, it was rooted in that homes served as a place where one would live with his people, and thus Triarius had became a beacon of Collective. For the Saeca Simius it was rooted in the old ways, losing ones home was a sign of weakness and dishonoured. For the Umbrae Populis, it was rooted in a similar manner, and thus each of the Cradle Worlds had large numbers of defences and forces stationed there. Culturally and socially, such worlds were absolute in value
