“Sounds as solid of a plan as any.” We go through the little turnstile. “Just make sure you tell me when you’re hungry. I don’t want you to starve because you’re too polite to tell me you want your pizza already.” I send her a wink. I don’t put my arm around her or offer my hand now, wanting her to be able to look around at her own pace without pressure from me. Typically I just go from one end of the room to the other, following the path that the curator has set. “Maybe you can wear my wardrobe so it will smell like you, then I might stop stealing yours.” I do a little hop up to kiss Caden’s cheek. “Would teleporting into the pool count as a jump scare?” I ask with a head tilt. It’s not hard to find and to my delight (and no one’s surprise), Caden has a beautiful cello in it. I pluck the strings to make sure it’s in tune before I sit down and play some music to warm up.
