Lack of new customers, even regular faces fading away, we've been falling to bigger and better competition that's popped up in the city. I know my grandparents will be fine without the store, they have enough money, but to see their passion, their labor of love just fall slowly into obscurity like it has been really weighs on the soul."

"A lot of the times we came to visit my grandparents here in L.A. are definitely on that list, although if I had to choose just one it would be the day my father took me to see the Statue of Liberty. I know, a common outing for a child in New York, but it was a moment I couldn't ever replace. It was the fourth of July, which, fun fact, is also my birthday. My father took me and my mother out onto the harbor on the yacht he had bought the year prior, and we had a dinner reservation at night right, so we would miss the fireworks show later in the evening. Apparently, he worked something out with the city to put on a show on himself earlier, without me knowing of course. Under the idea that we were just having a fun time out on the harbor, and slightly disappointed to miss the show, it's safe to say ecstatic when I saw the rockets fly. It was... It was perfect. The sunset sky, the explosion of color behind the statue, like wow. I balled in my father's arms for a good ten minutes after that moment. He really did a lot for us..."
