[i]Jinzo Iori is a man with a clear idea of what he wants out of life; to eat and be merry. Granted, his preferred activity to obtain merriment is to be eating, but he also enjoys not doing all that much else. In fact, he'll often go out of his way to shirk certain responsibilities so that can find a quiet place to eat his favourite foods. In any given situation, Jinzo's first thought often involves his voracious appetite. It's a wonder to many just how he isn't the size of a building, given that he eats so much. Though he simply tells people who ask that he appreciates the wonders of food, however, the true reason involves his Reiatsu as well as his Zanpakuto and that isn't information he gives up freely.

As a Shinigami, Jinzo holds a deep-seated respect for Hikari Shinrai though not simply because he's the Captain-Commander, or even because he's frequently considered to be on par with the strongest Kenpachi ever. No. Jinzo greatly admires how he prefers to spend his time; being lazy and getting drunk. Though not quite the same as eating, the sentiment is the same and seeing that a man of similar disposition has managed to climb so high in order to live out his dream, Jinzo has found true motivation from his Commander-in-chief. It's through Hikari's example that Jinzo has committed himself to attaining a cushy mid-to-high ranking job in one of the more internally-based squads, like Squad Nine or Squad Six. His third choice, Squad Eight, is because he believes that the Reserve Squad wouldn't get called up all too much - leaving him plenty of free time to eat.

His penchant for food and being lazy has often been to his detriment, as you might imagine. This was the main reason for him being held back at the academy for an extra two years - an occurrence he doesn't seem too bothered by though. In fact he quite relishes being one of the oldest in his graduating year as he now views the majority of his classmates as his juniors and thus will often attempt to take charge of a given situation, only to delegate the hard work out amongst his peers. This move is usually met with a middling response. All in all, however, Jinzo is usually quite earnest in completing a task that he's failed at passing off to someone else. In his mind, if he's unable to get someone else to do it then it only makes sense to try to complete the job as quickly and efficiently as possible. That way, he can swiftly get back to doing what he loves the most; eating.

[color=0072bc][b]History:[/b][/color]

[i]Jinzo was born as a Soul in the 73rd district of West Rukongai. Like many residents who live in the larger numbered districts, Jinzo was exceptionally poor growing up and - unlike many of his fellow Souls around him - possessed an above-average level of Reiryoku that required him to eat. This phenomenon was almost unheard of for those not apart of the Gotei 13 - since food is needed to replenish spiritual power. In Jinzo's case, however, he seemed to be constantly emitting Reiatsu beyond his control. Whilst not in massive amounts, the permanence of his predicament meant that for most of his younger years, Jinzo would often have to scavenge for anything he could feasibly eat, lest he fall into a suspended state of consciousness from expelling all of his Reiryoku. This would be akin to dying, as he'd still continuously be emitting his spiritual pressure without being able to replenish it himself, though he wouldn't reincarnate to the Human World unless he was physically attacked and killed.

It was only at the age of 22 that he learned he could apply to the Shin'ō Academy; a place where food was plentiful so he could eat his fill and - thus - not effectively die from his condition. His entrance exam was rather peculiar, as the normal examination required a Soul to produce some amount of Reiatsu, whereas Jinzo was already doing so constantly. There were several examiners and other members of the Gotei 13 who took special notice of his condition. Jinzo's time at the Academy was an extended one - it took him six years to graduate instead of the usual four. This was mostly due to his lax behavior and his main interest being food. It wasn't until he began to hear his Zanpakuto's voice for the first time after failing to graduate, that he began to take his training somewhat seriously - although his general indolence never truly went away.

After learning the nature of his Zanpakuto through Jinzen, Jinzo made a pact with his blade. Instead of fighting the spirit of his Zanpakuto in order to gain further abilities, he would promise to feed it Reiatsu of all different kinds whenever he could. And when he wasn't fighting, Gouyokuou would feast on his constantly emitting spiritual power as a means of greatly reducing the rate of expenditure. In the two years since hearing Gouyokuou for the first time, Jinzo has graduated from the Academy and has also managed to learn Shikai - a feat many of his instructors had thought impossible, due to his attention usually being elsewhere.

[color=0072bc][b]Relationships/Friendships/Rivalries/Siblings:[/b][/color][/center]
[i][b]Gouyokuou[/b] - Jinzo's relationship with his Zanpakuto is a rather tentative one. Whilst the pact made between them seemed like a good deal initially, Jinzo has recently been neglecting his side of the deal in favour of simply eating more so that Gouyokuou can continually feast on his own Reiatsu, as opposed to the Reiatsu of any opponents he's supposed to face. The disharmony between them, however, isn't anywhere close to being a major issue just yet, but there are very clear teething issues between them. A more noticeable difference being that Jinzo prefers to end his fights as quickly and efficiently as possible, whereas Gouyokuou prefers fights that last longer so that he can savour the taste of the Reiatsu he drains. These are simply the normal issues a Shinigami will go through with their Zanpakuto.[/i]

[i]Despite his Zanpakuto being a Kido-type, Jinzo hasn't learnt all that many Kido and other techniques aside from the very basics. Also, those that he has decided to learn are mostly related to some form of immobilization or restraint. This is purely to supplement his Shikai's ability at draining Reiatsu. In the long term, Jinzo hopes to learn powerful sealing Kido so that he is able to end a fight swiftly, which would enable him to return to his favourite pastime much faster.[/i]

[b]Shizukana Kyouen | Silent Feast | 静かな饗宴[/b]
[i]When Jinzo activates his Zanpakuto’s Shikai, Gouyokuou slowly drains the reiatsu of any being within a [url=https://i.imgur.com/9IkXGBn.png]20m radius[/url] from Jinzo's position. The amount of reiatsu drained is relatively small but remains constant and requires those affected by it be able to sense it happening or figure out Gouyokuou's ability through other means. The drained reiatsu [b]does not[/b] replenish Jinzo's own with this ability. As such, Jinzo prefers to utilize it offensively, rather than defensively, by using his mobility - in conjunction with his other abilities - to keep his opponents within its' radius in order to drain his enemies faster and end the battle. It is to be noted that the utilisation of Gouyokuou's other abilities will cause this passive ability to be unusable for varying periods of time, dependent on the ability used. If an ability is used whilst this passive is already on cooldown, the timer will reset to cooldown period of the latest ability. [b](Note: This ability also affects allies!)[/b][/i]

[i]Jinzo can activate this ability to dramatically increase the amount of reiatsu he can drain from his opponents for a limited amount of time but with the added benefit of replenishing his own simultaneously. Anyone that remains within a [url=https://i.imgur.com/9IkXGBn.png]20m radius[/url] of him after a short period of activation will have their spiritual power drained by what feels like three internal strikes. After which, Gouyokuou's passive ability will be stopped for a period of time.

[i]Jinzo can activate this ability to defensively negate a single ability that can be classified as either a melee strike or a ranged projectile by draining the reiatsu from it completely. Abilities that have an area of effect cannot be negated with this. The drained reiatsu [b]does not[/b] replenish Jinzo's own with this ability. Abilities with larger amounts of reiatsu will take longer for this ability to drain and will force Jinzo to remain stationary for its duration. After which, Gouyokuou's passive ability will be stopped for a period of time.

[hider=Kakure Karitori | Hidden Reaping]
[i]Jinzo can activate this ability to create a massive, invisible scythe that follows the movements of his own scythe with a slightly delayed response (2 seconds) for a period of time. This invisible scythe can cut through anything a normal blade would but can also be enhanced with higher amounts of reiatsu to cut through more durable materials. Whilst this technique remains invisible to Jinzo's enemies and allies alike, the scythe can be detected by those who are able to sense reiatsu to a decent level. Naturally, the higher the amount of reiatsu that has been injected into the technique, the easier it is to detect and avoid. Each strike from the invisible scythe will drain his opponent's reiatsu as well as replenish Jinzo's own by a relative amount, providing either Gouyokuou or the scythe make contact with Jinzo's opponent or their Zanpakuto. Gouyokuou's passive ability will be stopped for the entire duration of this ability and for a short time after.
