Nero wants to get it over with sooner rather than later, especially if Cassi wanted to dive back after Crowley. They press their hand on Caden’s cheek and close their eyes to concentrate, making sure to play them in order starting with Cassi’s family.

By the time they pull their hand back, Nero’s cheeks are wet and they curl back into Caden again. They keep their eyes on Caden’s face, waiting for his reaction and worried that his dragon might consume him again.

She has a feeling it’ll still be harder to do with Avery than with Caden even if she’s figured out how to do it now.
