Communications between countries separated by ocean or sea have become near impossible following the total blockade of all transport and communication overseas. Orbital satellites are quickly shot down the moment they breach the atmosphere. There are three major factions that remain operational: The European Union, NATO, and CSAT. There is additionally a minor faction headed by Japan but their strategic power is hardly significant on the global stage. Tensions between CSAT and the European Union have steadily begun to escalate as both factions try to secure solutions to their food and resource shortages.

There is no restrictions travelling over land whether by plane, car, or train. Short distances over shallow waters do not seem to trigger a response from the Fleet of Fog. Travel over seas is not impossible but comes with great risk. Any ship entering the ocean is doomed to encounter a Fleet of Fog ship shortly after entering. The same goes for any airplane that crosses into the ocean. Humanity has desperately tried to invent a ship capable of either outrunning the Fleet of Fog or standing up to it but there have no promising developments.
