There was a famous old Welsh film (and book as well, I suppose) called [i]'How Green Was My Valley'[/i].

Beat out [i]Citizen Kane[/i] and [i]The Maltese Falcon[/i] for the Best Picture award and cleaned up the Oscars that year.

It was a reference to that.
