Hal, Sinestro, May and Dex sat on the plane as it flew over the Pacific towards Sapporo. Hal stared at Dex as he sat licking himself. [color=8dc73f]"Ok. I'm gonna be the one to say this."[/color] Hal said, guesticulating wildly at Dex. [color=8dc73f]"IT'S A CAT!!!"[/color] Dex stopped licking himself and looked at Hal.

[color=ed1c24]"It is human who smells of Steak Sauce."[/color] He replied. [color=ed1c24]"Dex-Starr can state obvious too."[/color] Hal felt like he was living in a coo-coo-clock.

[color=8dc73f]"Sinestro, i'm being damn serious right now, how the HELL is a cat the Champion of Rage? This raises so many questions. Are there SERIOUSLY not angrier people out there? I mean, i caught a documentary the other day of the CEO of Wayne Enterprises. That guy saw both his parents gunned down in front of him. You are telling me this cat was able to comprehend more rage than him?"[/color] Hal asked. Dex's eyes narrowed.

[color=ed1c24]"Dex-Starr's rage is currently aimed at Green Steak-Sauce-Human."[/color] He growled as his ring glowed a darker red.

[color=8dc73f]"AND WHY DOES IT TALK?!?!?"[/color] Hal yelled at Sinestro. [color=8dc73f]"I can get around the secret agent who knows how to kill me in 200,000,000 different ways with just her big toe, I can just wrap my head around an alien man from space that came baring magic rings that turned us into the god-damned Power Rangers, but a talking cat joining the team? That's it, i'm drawing the line and demanding answers!"[/color] He looked at May for validation. May was just as curious, but she was trained to be restrained and not act out irrationally, unlike Jordan, who, despite his Air Force training, the stress was clearly getting to him. Sinestro looked at May.

[color=fff200]"Are all of your military personelle as irrational as this one?"[/color] Sinestro asked. He then looked at Hal. [color=fff200]"To answer your quesion, Green Lantern, the rings are not simply drawn to those who have felt the most of their emotion in their lives. When they are on the hunt, they are looking for the correct kinds of it. Dex-Starr is the one full of the most righteous anger at this very moment and it was enough to convince the ring to choose him. His speech is due to the rings translation matrix allowing you to understand what he's saying.[/color]

[color=8dc73f]"Wait. The ring has a translation matrix?"[/color] He asked. He looked at May. [color=8dc73f]"Say something in... German, i dunno."[/color] May rolled her eyes.

[color=7ea7d8]"You're an idiot."[/color] She said.

[color=8dc73f]"No i'm not, this is a valid experiment."[/color] Hal reasoned.

[color=7ea7d8]"Well, then it works."[/color] May replied.

[color=8dc73f]"No, you need to say something in German for me to tell."[/color] Hal said. May looked at Sinestro.

[color=7ea7d8]"So it turns everything i say into something he understands."[/color] She replied. [color=7ea7d8]"Not surprising, considering we don't speak Korugarian."[/color]

[color=8dc73f]"What's..."[/color] Hal stopped himself, realizing that question was most definitely in the briefing that Sinestro had written. [color=8dc73f]"So, what happens if you say something in Spanish?"[/color] Hal asked. [color=8dc73f]"I'm a Cali boy, i speak Spanish."[/color] He replied.

[color=7ea7d8]"Creo que sonaría exactamente lo mismo."[/color] May replied.

[color=8dc73f]"Ah, that came through as Spanish because i understand it."[/color] Hal pointed at her.

[color=7ea7d8]"Alright, so that was a fair experiment."[/color] She replied.

[color=8dc73f]"But, back to the cat?"[/color] Hal asked.

[color=fff200]"He is not the first non-sapient animal that has been made into the Champion."[/color] Sinestro put his ring out and began creating constructs of several other creatures. A squirrel, a dog, a space-whale looking thing, an entire planet.

[color=8dc73f]"A planet became a Lantern?"[/color] Hal asked.

[color=fff200]"Mogo, one of the strongest of our order. He was Green just as you are."[/color] He said.

[color=8dc73f]"Well, Mogo never got to meet Hal Jordan. And that's a shame for him, because i'm gonna be better than him.[/color] Hal replied with an arm-pump. Sinestro looked at Hal.

[color=fff200]"For all our sakes, i hope you are right."[/color] Sinestro replied.
