While Vladimir, a vehement Nazi, served as a Lieutenant to the wretched Kaiser Draeger and his Sonnenrad Fasci-Cult, Hellen was a well-established friend of Lynette Richoux. Through this friendship, Hellen attempted to foster and maintain some vague semblance of peace between the powerful Sonnenrad and the still-chafing Temple of Charming and Graceful Individuals. Vladimir's interests were far from his established family, leaving Hellen and their children with relative freedom to seek out alternative lifestyles. His only rule, Lena remembers, was that if Kaiser had a problem, then he would remove the problem. Through skill, will and wit, Hellen managed to keep Lena and her younger siblings well out of the way of Kaiser Draeger and their Father, where word would never reach them about what those girls were doing. As the Eldest, Lena felt responsible for insuring that her sisters stayed safe while they were kept mostly on Temple grounds. It was there she became friends with the likes of the Richoux siblings and their peripheries, and soon she was a well socialized young girl. Only, that age old problem when participating as a member of the Temple: As years passed, Lena simply wouldn't Kindle. Her Father was one of the premier Green Lux Adepts in St. Portwell, and Hellen herself was Adjoined to an Apparition which few people had ever seen. Yet, as her younger siblings Kindled, year after year, nothing came for her. The blessings skipped her. Loneliness, sadness; Eventually she found herself seeking the arms of her Father. In those dying days, Kaiser and his ilk were desperate for soldiers. Desperate for anything to turn the tide, or just another body to see brought down with them. She was happily taken in and forcibly Adjoined. She thought they would be her family, and that her companion Apparition would help fill the void she'd fallen into as she became a teen... As magical warfare opened in the St. Portwell streets, Lena was doing everything she could to impress her Father and Draeger by using her new abilities to kill their enemies in greater and greater numbers. Eventually, conflict between Sonnenrad and the Temple became unavoidable. As Hellen chose her Sisterhood and the love she received from them, she was... Still just an Adjoined. She was the first to volunteer, to insure that someone else may live, and in these conflicts Mother and Daughter clashed more than once. They were painful, emotional battles that left Lena scarred more emotionally than physically. It became harder to cope until she was unwilling to fight as she had. When she became useless, Draeger finally gave Vladimir the queue... Were it not for Hellen's timely rescue, their fates may have been swapped. She never would've died for the daughter she couldn't hold onto... But Lena never would've turned on the Kaiser. She never would've had the opportunity to rip Vladimir Zöller in half as he reveled in the slaughter of his traitorous wife. She never would've returned to the Temple, or accepted reeducation, or accepted being scrubbed clean of her sins and the blood on her hands to be returned to those she'd abandoned. Alena has never forgiven herself for her fate... But she's yet to forgive anyone else either.
Abstraction:
Lena is Adjoined to the Apparition known as Aufseher, Rute and Kette. A master/slave entity, this spirit consists of a main controller manifested by a large pair of eyes that hover behind Lena as well as two massive black gauntlets that flank her on either side. Aufseher, or Warden, shares full sensory usage of the body with Lena, and the two can separate from one another within a certain radius. This allows Lena to maintain total awareness of her surroundings, as the phantom eyes are capable of passing through non-warded surfaces and are capable of transmitting all five senses back to Lena from their position. The more dangerous aspect are the gauntlets, which when summoned are fully tangiable objects that are roughly the size of an average dumpster when sat next to one another. Strong enough to crush vehicles, dexterous enough to screw in a lightbulb without breaking it, these gauntlets perfectly mimic the controller's hand movements, and the material they're made out of absorbs surrounding Lux projections like a Black Hole absorbs surrounding material. Projectile spells, fellow close-quarters buffs; the gauntlets are two hungry guard dogs who hunt for their meal of Lux; and the Warden holds the leash.
[/cell][/row]
