If you check the characters tab Zeroth post, I have added in some 'standard issue' gear that everyone will have, and also the squadron roster with everyones names, callsigns, aircraft, ranks, and positions in the squadron. 

The 'position' is what you'd report as over the radio. e.g. 
"This is Heartbreak, Cobalt 1-1 to Skywatch, over" 
"Roger, Cobalt 1-1" 
etc etc. 

As has been evidenced so far, I'm not going to completely adhere to military authenticity, but having at least an acknowledgement or an effort at it helps add to the immersion, IMO; and is what I'm aiming for. [i]Just enough[/i] of an attempt at realism.
