If [@rabidbacon] and [@Herald] want to combine, it's a simple process of Mercy summoning and connecting the soul chains of them both. Then, Mercy and Val will have a telepathic connection, and Mercy will be able to dematerialize and hide/rest within Val.

Edit: Also as a note, I will be doing a time skip after this round of posting concludes. It'll be a few hours to half a day later. :)
