In the vampire's weakened state, he doubted she'd survive his blood even if the thirst drove her to penetrate his thick skin, so he didn't offer to follow. He reaches into his trench coat and pulls out his moleskine notebook and quickly found the resident list. "Suzy" he reads put loud, translating the odd script. The language was ancient, even when he was a youngster, so if the notebook got dropped or stolen, it was unlikely anyone could read it. "I beg your pardon," he says, glancing around, not sure if the ghost was there or not. Qaymu's body began flickering as his human disguised reasserted itself, turning, he went down the stairs and walked out through the door for the central courtyard where Eilidh was running laps, Alphonse was taking a stroll, and he could see the other Max and Iris having a conversation. Nodding pleasantly to them, he made it over to building 2, then started climbing up the stairs, his right hand hovering over his trench coat pocket. After closing the door, he picked up his cat as he made his way over to the display, a giant shadow box of various objects he'd collected over the years. He gave the display a nod, then with one last stroke of the cat's fur, he put her down and fished out the handkerchief from his pocket. His fingers made quick work of the knot, and he carefully placed Max's ring in a blank spot, making sure to hold it with his fabric-covered fingers. "Now, let's see if we were successful," he murmurs, touching the signet ring with his bare skin.
"Hey!" Max said, still running his hand over the stubble left on his head by the boot camp barber, pointing at Qaymu's mustache with the other. "How come dey didn't cut dat off?" Qaymu shrugged and grinned. "I don't think they noticed it."
Yes, the memories had been caught, perhaps even a bit of Max's soul with it. "My friends," he spoke, nodding to the wall and the collected memories, "Rest well and never feel as if you will go forgotten. Not on my watch."
