Unfortunately for your player, a pleasant afternoon to try a somewhat niche MMO has turned into much more. As the game mentions a new 'upcoming' event with dedicated incentives to new players. All seemed fairly well until finishing character creation.
As once you have, you're fully sucked into the game as that virtual avatar!
(Note: This wasn't from VR Tech~. Though such is compatible)

[@Crawkid] & I have been bouncing around ideas for a roleplay. Melted down to its bare bones, it's an Isekai MMO that uses a 'card system' to gain individual skills and the ilk. It is being played with rather loosely, as the game is active combat just that 'cards' are used for skills and the ilk.

- Isekai into an MMO
- Dark fantasy world with dark fantasy races about hunting monsters and demons
- Currency, items, and cards
- hot bar/load out is represented by 'cards' 
-- Cards separated into two catagories, active and passive
-- Isekai players start lvl 1; 5 starting card slots, two starting cards (1 passive, 1 active), and a weapon selection
-- Buffs at level up; +1 card slot every 10 levels
-- Mechanics are not played like a card game, but each card represents a power for your character.
-- Cards can still be traded, sold, and bought individually or in booster packs
