Nic wrapped his arms around Cassi, kissing the top of her head before resting his cheek against her as he watched. It made him glad that Nero stood up for themself, but it felt weird to be watching this unfold. So instead, he closed his eyes as he held Cassi and focused more on the scent of her hair than anything else.

There was a shift in the atmosphere when Caden knelt down in front of Nero and they could only assume this sort of behavior was something the imp would probably never see again… Unless Caden managed to screw things up even more than he had in the last twelve hours. Even Kiki seemed utterly surprised. The demon bit their lip, frowning as they let his words sink in.
