Born in Kirigakure to an exiled Uchiha and a rogue member of the shunned Akizuki clan, Yūto was condemned to a life filled with strife from the start. Perhaps it was that cruel twist of fate which made him the way he is. The reform in Kirigakure was already in full swing at the time of his birth, separating him from his father before he could even walk, not that he would have remembered. With his lineage kept hidden from even himself, he was able to avoid initial involvement in the Enclave project and being trapped within the Sixth Mizukage’s gilded cage. Yūto’s earliest memory was of chaos and bloodshed; near the beginning of the Kirigakure Civil War.

When the rebellion over the Enclave project took off, Yūto’s mother ensured he was left out of it. It was a solution that would only work so long as his Kekkei Genkai never manifested, a fact that grew less certain by the day. To further increase his chances of survival if the worst-case scenario came to pass, Yūto enrolled in the shinobi academy, wherein he had to participate in the infamous Brood Feast graduation exam. It was there, faced with the inevitable act of taking a life those in power had deemed lesser, that he was confronted with the crushing weight of his accidie.

Unfortunately, it didn’t take long after that for the worst to come to pass. At the height of the rebellion and following the discovery of his parentage, Yūto and his mother were faced with a choice; submit to the Mizukage’s authority or flee the country before the situation devolved too far. It was a choice between certain enslavement and possible freedom; a choice that was made without a second thought. That plan, however, was far easier to accomplish in theory than in practice. The journey from Kirigakure to the Land of Fire was long and treacherous, but eventually, it was over and salvation was in sight.

The arrival to Konoha came with its own share of issues. While Yūto’s capacity to utilise two separate bloodlines made him a valuable asset to the Uchiha clan, his mother’s previous transgressions were not so easily forgiven. Inserted into the shinobi ranks of Konoha, it didn’t take long before Yūto was made a member of the ANBU, wearing the mask of a raven.

Yūto was someone who could only ever be accurately described as impassive. Since birth, he has been emotionally isolated from the rest of the world. Intelligent but detached, he views the world and its inhabitants—himself especially—from an outsider’s perspective, thoughtful yet dispassionate. Despite his unshakeable poker face and dry wit, it would be wrong to say he lacks emotion, even if his actions may say otherwise. Above all else, Yūto is fascinated with the unpredictability of life to its extreme, the only thing that elicits something other than utter apathy.
