Since his mother was fierce and controlling, she kept a cloying grip on her son. She wanted Leonidas to be a 'gentleman' and a poet due to her own inclinations for writing, dreading that she would lose him to battle just like she lost her husband (Leonidas' talents were still in the field of battle). Sadly, this strategy would take a heavy toll on young Leonidas. By stifling the things he loved most, Leonidas became anxious, self-conscious, passively pleasing and insecure. Since he spent more time with girls than with boys, he was often teased and bullied by the latter. Despite his many friendships with the former, Leonidas rarely courted them. He always tried to win the girls over with 'chivarly' and 'respect', failing to understand that his behavior was not attractive to them, for he sought their validation, and not to connect with them. Additionally, he trained sword-fighting in secret by reading treatises in the city library and practicing with a wooden sword or with sticks. When he turned 20, he hastened to become a squire. 10 years later, he remains one, as well as an anxious, ineffectual man just short of his full potential. Ola gained renown as a weaponsmith, while Agnis was a beloved Nordic-style baker. However, all of this would come to a grinding halt on the 1st of Sun's Dusk, 4E 191, when Thalmor Justiciar Feanor carried out an utter genocide of all Nords in Bruma, because they believed that they would be concocting a "Stormcloak uprising" in the city. Before Thorin could be found, Ola sent him on horseback to ride for Skyrim's border. In Skyrim, he sought work as a weaponsmith, but was advised by Aela the Huntress to join the Companions, after he stood up to a bandit in Falkreath. Thorin served Jorrvaskr well for years, until one night, Circle-members Skjor and Aela turned him into a werewolf. Consumed with bloodlust, Thorin became a servant to Hircine, and hunted the Silver Hand with Aela. He only realized the error of his ways when their campaign led to the death of Kodlak Whitemane, the beloved Harbinger. Upon embarking on a quest to cure Kodlak of his Beast Blood, Thorin also cured his own, feeling that if he remained a werewolf, Kodlak's hopes would be all for naught. [/hider]
