Anything to help put food on the table besides his dead end job in corporate America. Besides, the pills they usually gave weren't half bad either. So when a new company had reached out about a trial, he hopped right in. It was a multi day process, screening and vetting everyone who would be allowed in. Finally he was brought into a room, large, real sterile type shit. Various glass tubes and strange boxes lined shelves and tables, with some odd cylindrical tanks against the wall. It was far more advanced than any one he'd done before, but nothing he couldn't handle he figured. He was placed inside a tank, another boy in the one to the right of him. Trails began, and not much had happened. Then, his neighbors tank went dark, pitch black kind of dark. August began to wonder if his would too, until the tank exploded. The blast was enough to free most of the subjects, but so close to August it sent him flying into a shelf on the wall. A strange multicolored viscous slime was released from the impact, and August was covered in shards of broken glass. One minute he was blacking out, the next the slime was gone, and then suddenly all his wounds were gone. The blonde kid ravaged the scientists and August just wanted to get away, a voice in his head speaking to him about insane things and hunger. Just when he thought he'd gotten out, a white van pulled up and captured him and a few others. Next thing he knew he was at C.A.G.E. talking about Depression and getting Bupropium as a daily additive to his meals. Which certainly helps keep his Depression happy. When experimentation at the facility started and experienced catastrophic failure, it gave Depression the opportunity to slide into the perfect host: August Perlman. Shifted to C.A.G.E. shortly after, Depression has experienced a life of luxury, meals twice a day and a constant stream of new experiences daily. Still, Depression wants to know the feeling of stretching their legs and regular meals won't keep them satisfied for long. [/hider]
