She really did. She hardly knew him- or Elena- but there was a connection forged in strife, right? They seemed like good people. Maybe she should just give them her number… No. That was the exact thing Momo and Vin had given her a hard time for doing before. Being too trusting, handing out her personal number to strangers… She’d given them her workplace, at least. She was there far more than her own home! "Sure, we could’ve met under better circumstances… but that don’t really happen in this city much," she continued with a shrug. Her hand was still rubbing comforting circles in Luciana’s back, the little girl not responding to much. She was just seeking comfort in her mother’s warmth. "I think you’re right about the bakery… the owner was givin’ us this look as we left too. I dunno, felt real judging. Then that thing... maybe it wanted somethin’ off her?" Loni wasn’t really one for figuring out why something had attacked a specific place. She wasn’t a strategist. She was a follower, really. But she didn’t dwell on it… Hand raising into a wave as Elena re-entered the room. "Look, mi amor, it’s the nice lady who carried you here. Why don’t you stop hidin’?" She said softly to Luciana. Her daughter’s head shook slightly, and she stayed curled up on Loni with her face pressed against her. Loni let out a soft sigh, holding her close. She probably wasn’t going to calm down for a while… and not here. Loni could still feel her own skin knitting itself back together under the effects of Lia’s spell. It would be a while yet before she could leave, and get Luciana somewhere she’d feel safe. Which left filling the time with conversation. "If you don’t mind me askin’, what can you both do? Magic wise." Loni asked the question to Elijah and Elena with a smile. "It’s safe to talk ‘bout it here- Most’ve the staff are coven members or related. Not that I know ‘em, they’re from the fancier part of the coven- I ain’t familiar with the people I don’t work with." Loni paused for a moment. She should probably talk about her own magic first… that was only fair. Otherwise it looked like she was trying to get information out of them, which she really wasn’t. "I’m an Adept myself. I got Green and Black lux… Green for manipulatin’ my body, Black for manipulatin’ ghosts. I don’t wanna assume you don’t know ‘bout it, but I know plenty ain’t lucky like me. My mamá taught me ‘bout it when I kindled! I ain’t so good with the Black, but it’s how I made that shield… and weakened that thing after you stabbed it. With my Green… well… I can grow wings, keep going longer than I should and a few other things." She spoke incredibly earnestly and openly about her magic. "I ain’t the most useful when somethin’ like that happens… but I plan to improve it."
