Doctor Who (FxF)
As a Fan of all the Incarnations of Doctor Who, including those Doctors before the 10th Doctor I have wanted to do a Whovain RP with a twist.
Episode 139 The Mark of the Rani
This episode happened in the 6th incarnation of the Doctor and introduced the Rani (Hindi for Princess)
The Rani was, like the Master, intended as a recurring foe of the Doctor, but only appeared in two serials, The Mark of the Rani and Time and the Rani, before Doctor Who went off the air in 1989. The Rani also appeared as the principal villain in Dimensions in Time, a Doctor Who charity special created for Children in Need. She was intended to appear in another serial entitled Yellow Fever and How To Cure It but the show was put on hiatus and the serial was cancelled.
In August 2012 Steven Moffat stated that "he had no reason to bring back the Rani", thus putting an end to the rumours of her return to the series. Too bad for I think the Doctor could use the challenge now that the Master is deceased. (I wonder if Moffat is worried that a Lady Time Lord might outshine the Doctor?)
Russell T Davies has said that if he had brought back the Rani, he would have cast actress Ruthie Henshall (Her's is the Picture I chose to represent the present Rani) in the role.
This is the latest Incarnation of the Lady of Time as she seeks to prove to herself and perhaps the Doctor that she is the best ever who belonged to the Deca, the Academy clique she, the Doctor and the Master belonged to.
The plot will be simple for you as her companion as I will bare the primary load of doubling; they will involve similar themes as does those of the doctor with the twist being that the Rani will require her companion's empathy an guidance as she tries to better herself.
----------------------------------------
Name : "The Rani" (formerly known as Ushas)
Personality:
The Rani was an evil (or, arguably, simply amoral) scientific genius whose villainy came not from the usual variety of lust for power and suchlike, but from a mindset that treated everything (including morality) as secondary to her research. She was known to enslave entire worlds in order to have a ready supply of experimental subjects and a place to carry out her experiments uninterrupted. Her major interest was in altering the biochemistry of other species.
While she did appear evil, she found the Master to be truly evil and therefore stupid. She simply did evil things because she felt it was necessary to her work. When the Sixth Doctor tried to convince her not to experiment on humans, she called them carnivores and asked if they ever thought of the lesser species when they sunk their teeth into pork chops. This shows that the Rani may have had a conscience of some kind, also shown when she was willing to destroy her test subjects because they would've killed the Doctor.
She has now turned over a new leaf it seems as she tries her grandest experiment ever, self reinvention.
As a Scientist she now uses what seemed a successful for the Doctor, the taking of a companion from a lesser species. Humanity is her choice due to their effect on temporal causality and gregarious nature.
She is willing now to listen to them and not view them merely as lab rats. She still has trouble with empathy but hopes exposure to the unstable nature of a human's emotions willl solve this.
