Niara Rootwick

~ Abandoned Farmland ~
[@Rune_Alchemist][@Dragonydas] They had returned to quite the commotion, apparently. She heard shouting as they approached, heard something about tools, and felt the pain of the tool-haver. From the sounds of it, he was a blacksmith who’d found a workshop in this abandoned place, only to have it destroyed. To have found a home in this new place, only to have it taken away. Oof, yeah. That was pretty rough. Niara wasn’t exactly used to tense situations like this. Folks were generally happy to see her and grateful when she fixed their ailing plants, so she didn’t often have to settle arguments. As for what had happened, she’d have to learn more before making any judgements. In the meantime, though, Yingmei made a fine segway for her to come in with her own presentation. “Yes, we’ve managed to bring back a small sample of what we can grow in the field. Didn’t grow any wheat, since we’d need the mill.” She hefted the bag from her shoulder onto the ground and opened it, revealing a small, small harvest of rice and tea. “The rice is a little different, since it’s not a proper rice paddie. We’ll have to see how it cooks. Maybe it’ll be more suitable for a porridge?” It had been interesting to learn that rice paddies were more work intensive than she thought. Perhaps she could have Yingmei teach her a bit about each of her plants. There was more to know, apparently. If she could get a sampler growing in a pot, she could experiment further. Perhaps she would like to learn a bit of earth magic in exchange? Ooh, she had asked someone to look for a good vine or something, hadn’t she? Where was that young woman, now..?
