I humbly present my Character! Feel free to nitpick or give feedback. His reason for joining the watch can change as I threw in a potential romantic interest though that's not necessary. Not having much muscle mass. He tends to be found in T-shirts with funny sayings/pictures on them and jeans. If he's outside he is usually wearing a pair of shades as his blue eyes don't handle bright sunshine well. Personality: Due to Morgan's background he tries to be a ray of sunshine. Even though everything about his life should scream that he is bitter and angry, Morgan instead chooses to take the higher road and channel his negative feelings into something more beneficial and less destructive. He enjoys being the problem solver when he is physically able to. Due to looking at the glass as half full he often gets himself into situations that are better left alone because he wants to be helpful. Background: Morgan was born and raised in Redstone. His father Arthur was destined to be a pro in the NFL but in his first season badly tore his ACL resulting in his dream coming crashing down in flames. His mother Mary was a schoolteacher at Redstone Primary. Arthur had been in a dark place in life until Morgan's birth where he funneled all his failed desire into the boy and watched him become an amazing young football star. Morgan looked like he was going to achieve greatness just like his old man, but in his junior year like father like son. Disaster struck. A bad tackle from a much larger boy ruptured a disc so badly they worried Morgan would never walk again. Yet the boy proved to be very resilient and pulled through the surgery fairly well, but his dreams were now shot. As he would soon find in the months to come that he often suffered from extreme lower back pain forcing him to take really strong pain relievers just to manage living. It came with a host of other complications and for the rest of his junior year he was angry, but he became inspired reading of tragic heroes who pressed on regardless of their circumstances and made the best of their situations. Unable to work out or even walk for long periods of time Morgan turned to books and soon became lost in them and their adventures. He has also done this as a coping mechanism to deal with his abusive alcoholic father escaping to other worlds to avoid dealing with his own problems at home. His mother passed when he turned 20 after a long battle with cancer. He is hoping to save up enough money to leave his home. Once he drank Grace's coffee, his back pain greatly diminished and by the second cup it had all vanished. Connections: Arthur Watkins is his only family left in Redstone with his mother's death. Everyone that went to Redstone High will know of Morgan as he was the rising football star until he crashed and burned. Being out of the limelight he has led a quiet life but is friendly and talkative to any who pursued him. Emerging Power: Morgan noticed that after a week or so of having graced Grace's place that his hands began to glow a soft warm light. It feels extremely comforting and provides light in dark places. He has noticed that in places where strange things happen like whispers that they seem to dim or recede when he uses his powers. Morgan is somewhat scared of his powers because if he tries to spread the light to the rest of his body he begins to feel his consciousness falter. There is a desire that is of total bliss, a desire for oneness but he does not know to what or whom, so he tries to use it sparingly afraid to lose himself. Personal Motivations: When his back was cured, his desire to help people was strengthened and finding out that the darkness does not seem to like his light and it brings comfort to those around him. He joined the Neighborhood Watch to encourage others and help them. It also didn't hurt that he had a romantic interest on the watch that he never pursued due to his back issues. His constant reading of adventures also created a sort of wanderlust in his soul that is itching for the unknown and safety in numbers, right?
