5 days later, and here is my character. Brain fried atm. Little details on purpose. If you need something background/weakness related for the RP, discuss with me via DM or discord, whatever your flavour of the month.
Name
Azrael Moretti
Age
28
Occupation
Mortician
Appearance
Azrael is a robust, 28-year-old Italian woman with a no-nonsense air about her. Her olive complexion is a testament to her Mediterranean heritage, and her eyes, a charming mix of hazelnut and gold, often light up with a mischievous glint. Despite her heavy build, she moves with surprising grace, a necessity in her line of work. Her dark, curly hair is usually tied back in a practical bun to keep it from obstructing her view as she navigates the macabre scenes she's often called to attend.
Personality
Bubbly and pragmatic, Azrael's warmth belies the gravity of her work. With a penchant for dark humour and an unshakeable optimism, she has a knack for making others feel at ease amidst the most sombre of circumstances. Despite her sometimes morbid jokes, she treats the deceased with utmost respect and professionalism. Beneath her cheerful exterior, however, lies a carefully guarded vulnerability and a deep fascination with the mysteries surrounding death and the afterlife.
Background
Witnessing her Nonna's slow decline and peaceful death left a profound impact. While grieving, she was strangely drawn to the process of preparing the body for burial, finding a sense of order and closure in the ritual. As she grew older, Azrael apprenticed with a traditional family-run funeral home in Italy. She learned the art of embalming, restoration, and grief counselling, but also encountered ancient funerary practices and whispered tales of spiritual connection to the departed. Azrael was drawn by a cryptic advertisement for a mortician in the remote town of Havenwood, Azrael saw an opportunity for both professional growth and a chance to escape the expectations of her family in Italy.
The Touch
During a particularly gruesome case – the body of a hunter found mutilated in the woods – Azrael was alone in the embalming room. As she worked, she swore she heard a faint whisper coming from the body, a plea for help. Shrugging it off as exhaustion, she continued her work. But the whispers became more frequent, more distinct, eventually forming coherent words. Every odd body, Azrael would hear the whispers of corpses, never totally understanding their meanings.
Weakness(es)
Due to the whispering corpses she has to endure, Azrael found herself insomniac. Even if she knows why she cannot sleep, she doesn't discuss it out of fear it becoming reality. She is constantly on the edge, maintaining rationality with her will to work and look happy.
Motivations
As the town's only living mortician, Azrael has a professional drive to stay in the town. Whether it was to seek answers for her condition or lay lost souls to rest, she would stay in Havenwood until someone, or something, gave her the truth.
