If Bonnie skipped this pit stop in New York City, she would be camping peaceably in at the Green Mountain National Forest in Vermont by now. She would be on a lovely, secluded trail in the forest. She felt responsible for ending up here. She had to make a stupid mistake visiting this museum. It wasn't worth it. Bonnie began angrily pacing around the museum’s lobby biting her thumb. It took Bonnie a moment to register the two women speaking to her. “Oh, um, sorry. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah, I’ll be okay. Name is Bonnie.” She reached out towards Liana’s hand and shook it. Then she turned to address the security guard in front of her. “No, that will be alright. Thank you though.” Billie sat down on the floor to search through her backpack and retraced her steps. Yesterday, she stopped at some motel in NYC. This morning, she woke up at 7 a.m. to visit the Natural History Museum. She took the public transit to get here. Now, Billie felt trapped. “Okay, okay. I just need to get back to the SUV,” she whispered to herself. Billie began digging through her backpack hoping some answer lied within. Inside was her keys, wallet, granola snacks, pepper spray, a half-filled water pack, pocket knife, and at the very bottom was her trusty rock hammer. She looked up towards Liana and the security guard. “How about y’all two? Are you both alright?”
