Goal of RP: Follow a Space-Faring Rescue Corp to investigate space freighters and stations that went dark


[hider=Setting]The first successful human-manned space shuttle to leave the solar system and to return occurred in 2179. The first functional space station to support a population of 1,000 people within the Solar System was built in 2248 which continues operation to this day. Now, moon bases and space stations orbit across the solar system. With the advancements in faster than light travel, space engineering and architecture, and terraforming, humans started colonizing the stars. Once space travel became safe and reliable, several companies invested in mining operations in the Solar System and beyond. With the harvested minerals and water, terraforming Venus and Mars became possible.
	Now, it is the year 2304. Venus and Mars have become 80% terraformed. Humanity has been able to start colonization efforts via space stations in 50 light years from their home. With the success of Venus and Mars, planets in other star systems are being terraformed.
While colonization of the stars is becoming a dream come true, humanity still remains the same. There is no interplanetary government yet, but many space stations, settlements, and the home system formed the Interplanetary Trade Union (ITU). The ITU manages trade disputes, maintains the interplanetary “highway,” fights back on piracy, and manages rescues of ships, stations, or settlements in distress.
