Roland
Level 7 Roland (20/70) - (Holding 1 level up) Location: Hammerhead > Refinery Word Count: 816 Upon arriving at the refinery, it was soon found that it was mostly sealed up with only one way in, a loading bay door that was still closed, but a lot weaker than the rest of the other entrances to the building. Parking the truck near the loading door, Roland got out and gave it a quick look over. "Yep... Looks like we'll need to break in. No lockpicking this door." Roland said, looking up at the camera that seemed to be watching them. Although with his mask on, he looked much like any monster that might be in this place. Taking out his katana, he cut at the locks of the door until they fell off, letting the two enter the building. Entering the building sounded a bit of an alarm as automated turrets popped out of the walls and began to shoot at the two. Roland, having his sword in his hand, approached the turret at rapid speed as he used his sword to deflect its bullets and slash it to bits. With Therion taking out his own turret, the way seemed clear. "Stuff like this only works on unskilled people. Enough skill, and you make automated stuff like this useless." Roland said, pointing at the turrets and basically explaining why he wasn't even spooked when he saw an automated gun. Although soon a pair of soldiers and cultists appeared in robes, masks, and burlap sacks responding to the alarm. These opponents had simple weapons, the cultists having nothing while the soldiers wielded chainsaws. This looked more normal to Roland, although one thing stood out as he got a heavy whiff of fast food. That would be for later though as he clashed with a soldier using his hammer against his chainsaw, sending himself and the cultist back. Remembering the floor of General Works, Roland raised an emotion level and gained Urging, a rapid heartbeat being heard for a moment as he gained more health and a massive boost in speed. Afterwords the cultists soon showed why they were unarmed, they were spellcasters and fired magic balls at Roland and Therion. Much like the bullets beforehand though, these weren't coming from a very strong force and Roland was able to knock these energy balls away with his hammer before striking a cultist down with a barrage of dagger and gauntlet strikes. He then swapped to his new smiling shotgun and fired at the burlap soldier that was starting to rush him, blasting him into the wall and ripping apart his face covering. The cultist too, had his mask shattered when Roland smacked him with his attacks. And with Therion dealing with his group, the two could finally see what these cultists were. "OK. I was expecting a flesh cult or something with those chainsaws. But this... I wasn't expecting this. How did this happen?" Roland said as the face reveals of the cultists and soldiers revealed themselves to be Bugsnax corrupted people. Totally changed, these people looked like humanoid bugs made out of junk food or fast food. While Roland had a calm head, even sounding a bit bored up to this point, he was a bit shocked as to what he was seeing. "So wait... These guys are fully... uh... whats a good word? Snackified? I guess there is some kinda creature or something living here turning people and bugs and such into food or something? Or maybe the cult is turning people into these and these bugs are naturally occuring? I'm both horrified and relieved. This is a different kind of horror to what is in district 23, although I'm sure that place would love to experiment with creatures like this, but its a lot more... whimsical in a terrifying way compared to just cooking people in horrific ways." As the cultists and soldiers finally expired, their books lay on the ground for the pair to pick up. Picking up one of a cultist, Roland gave it a quick read. Being simple souls, there wasn't much there, but he did get some information which he read aloud. 'We are snax. We must be snax. All must be snax. All will be snax." Roland closed the book and did the same for the soldier, which was identical. Seeing no use in these books, Roland burned them, which gave him a choice of 5 different food items. All of them looked like junk food, so he decided to just choose the hamburger.
Hamburger x2 Heals a small amount of hp when eaten.
Letting Therion have a crack at the other books if he wanted, Roland motioned for the two of them to continue. "Until we know whats actually going on here, I suggest we try to be stealthy. These guys might've been pushovers, but usually the cults have their stronger members deeper inside."
