Thomas winces as Liza's voice trailed off, knowing now that he shouldn't have brought it up. People hadn't exactly been kind to him, but she had probably gotten the worst of it. Most people looked at her like she was the worst person in the building, which he found to be rather unlikely. Few people ever deserved the reputation they had, and even fewer ever tried to fix it. "Sorry, I should pay more attention to what I say. And yeah, there's nothing really to do about it. It just puts me on edge. I go from being invisible one week to the spotlight the next. Just doesn't sit right." His hands move to his pockets as his shoulders slump a little more. "Sorry," he says again, little more than a whisper. "I should probably just leave you to your lunch."
