Johnathan was driven back. This wouldn't work. His armor was damaged, and Magnus was healing far more quickly than he could. While not as good as solid blood, the vapour was definitely showing it's effects. Johnathan tried to hold on to Magnus for a little longer, but the other vampire broke loose, Johnathan stumbling backwards. He needed his sword, and he had been a fool to have left it in the tree. Glancing back, he noticed it wasn't in the tree anymore either. Damn. His pride would cost him dearly if he didn't find a way to take Magnus down, and fast.
