Finding nothing in the space the performer had previously occupied - besides perhaps some residual magical energy, which he could only do so much with - the librarian turned away with a sigh. He had really wanted to know about that magic. Looking up, however, a figure jumping across the rooftops a ways away caught his eye. The person were too far away for him to distinguish, but could that be the performer? His spirits lifted; perhaps he still had a chance! He began running in the direction of the figure, trying very hard not to run into other people, buildings, or whatever else could possibly be in the streets that he might crash into. The running figure was quite a distance away, so he was very worried that he might lose sight of it. He wasn't sure what he would do then, nor did did he know what to do if this wasn't the same person he was looking for after all, but he would cross that bridge later. As it was, he knew that he would have to come up with a better plan to catch up with the fleeing figure ahead; he could only follow it on the ground at this distance for so long before he ran into some sort of obstruction or completely lost sight of his target. For now, though, he would have to keep running. He would come up with something soon, he was sure of it. Then he would get some answers, and his research could maybe get some new leads!
