Name: Xia Yang
Age: 17
Appearance:
Gender: Female
Equipment: A dagger, an alchemy set, and various potions
Profession: Herbalist
Bio: Xia's mother died giving birth to her. It wasn't her fault though; Xia's mother had always been an ill girl. Her father worried that Xia would inherit her mother's weak constitution. But growing up, it seemed more like Xia took what little was left from her mother and added it to her own; Xia was a very energetic child, and still rather active well into her adult life as well. Xia and her father lived in the forest not too far away from Halrock, though for reasons that her father never explained in full detail, they never actually moved to the nearby village or Halrock itself. Xia spent most of her childhood and teenage years helping her father make potions and poisons for the nearby village. She did everything from gathering materials, making the concoction, and testing them herself. However, they were all very mundane, with the most "magical" being potions that would heal wounds and injuries quickly.
By the time Xia was sixteen years old, her father left to go do business in the village, but never came back. When she went to investigate the townspeople said that they never saw her father enter town. She waited and waited, but after a month, she had figured that he had abandoned her. This scared her immensely; she was alone, away from others, in the forest. She feared for her life, unsure of what to do now that it seemed like her father would not be coming back. So Xia began to go over her father's tomes and spell books (He was once a mage), and while she did not understand most of it, she did her best to absorb any knowledge she could find useful. She experimented with things that her father told her not to mess with before, but after a few failures, she' soon pick up on some fairly advance mixtures.
It has been almost a year since her father had left her. Xia occasionally makes visits to the village to trade goods, but more often than not she's at her little hovel, experimenting with potions and other concoctions.
Name: Malakaus Ironhide
Age: 20
Appearance:
Gender: Male
Equipment: Pick-Axe, knife
Profession: Miner/Lumberjack
Bio: Malakaus's parents wasn't what you'd call "Traditional" orcs. They were raised by dwarves, who were seeing if they could "Condition" the violent orcs into peaceful creatures. They succeeded. Malakaus's parents were, while imposing in size and more than combat able, where not particularly violent or antagonistic. When they left the program, they tried to spread their teaching to other orcs, though their upbringing also made than rather passive. This did not bold too well when Malakaus was born. His parents, loving as they were, tried to instil similar lessons they took up, but unlike them Malakaus wasn't raised in an environment that was under constant surveillance of those who where trying to condition him not to be troublesome. He was raised among other orcs, who he quickly adapted to be like. He got into fights, got into trouble, and more often than not his parents couldn't really do anything about it aside from verbal punishments. To Malakaus, an orc was an orc, and there was nothing wrong with it. He would soon be proven wrong.
One day when he was thirteen years old, travelings came into the village. They just wanted to get some supplies and head out. But Malakaus and his friends were looking for trouble, and began to pester the travelers. Soon, it became violent. But despite outnumbering the travelers ten to one, the orcs began to get cut down, Malakaus barely survived when he was thrown through a wall and buried underneath the rubble. Things escalated quickly when the entire village descended on the travelers, only for the village to quickly begin dying en masses. By the time Malakaus got out, half the villagers were dead. When they were nursing his wounds, Malakaus's parents told them that this was why he needed to learn how to behave; his savagery may make him friends with other orcs, but it will not do the same with others. The self-destructive path they lived by was only going to bring them a slow death, and not one that was worth celebrating. Malakaus understood this now, but parts of him still struggled with overcoming his inborn nature.
After the massacre, the Malakaus and his parents moved to Halrock, a rather mixed settlement. They didn't have any trouble moving, but Malakaus still wasn't used to dealing with people aside from orcs. He always had to fight the urge to just harm them for petty grievances, and had to settle with hunting to settle his taste for blood. But even than he craved the taste of a fight, not just for killing. He tried to get himself working with the guards, but they wouldn't have him for being too young at the time. HE had to settle with living with a life of peace, working as a miner or a lumberjack to get some coins and materials for his father to work with.
