... Well, I don't feel half so original now. :P Appearance: Kicirou is rarely without a travel bag over his shoulder, and a walking stick in hand. Credit for the picture goes to the original artist. Name: Kichirou Raideen Age: 20 Class: Samurai Power(s): Without added power or enhancement, Kichirou is remarkably fast, with reflexes to match. He's also quite observant, and reasonably strong, though not abnormally so. He is a very competent combatant, though he has an odd tendency to fight with his walking stick before anything else. He does, however, have a few tricks up his sleeve. Raijin's Blessing: Whether this ability is really the result of divine providence is unknown, but it is the name that was settled on generations ago. Far from a passive ability, the Raijin's Blessing requires intentional thought and effort to invoke, and for good reason. While active Kichirous moves at high speeds, swift like the element of the god from whom it takes its name. The Raijin's Blessing, the longer it goes on, tends to bring about a storm above the user. With effort, Kichirou can channel and manipulate lightning, though it is notably reduced from the power of a genuine lightning bolt. Affinity for the Storm: A secondary ability granted by the first. While a storm is raging, Raijin's Blessing is heightened. Due to the tendency of it to draw a storm, this usually means that defeating Kichirou before a storm brews tends to be wise. Similarly, lightning seems to hold no danger for him. Due to the combination of the above, Kichirou's fighting style, be it armed or unarmed, tends to revolve around agility and dexterity rather than force. Weakness: Kichirou's greatest weakness is, in large part, a self-imposed one; Getting him to draw his sword is a challenge, and his abilities are only brought out when there are no alternatives. When they are in use, however, his reliance on speed can be taken advantage of, if he is forced to fight in a more confined space. Background: Kichirou was born in a relatively small mountain village to a family with a very, very long legacy. Every member of the family, going back many generations, was born with what had been long ago dubbed the Raijin's Blessing. Though there was some minor variation among the abilities, they all remained characterized by two things; Lightning, and the speed that came with it. Nevertheless, the family was, in large part, quite peaceable. They were trained since childhood in their abilities and the martial arts, but they lived their own lives, and followed whatever path they chose. With the village's small size, they also served as its immediate defenders, when the need was present. Kichirou was born into this legacy, and it was one he strove to live up to as best he could. For reasons he has declined to comment on, he chose not to remain in that village. Indeed, he chose to travel quite far from it. He has been a constant wanderer since, showing up in a new village where no one knows his face, staying for a few months, and moving on. Though neither his name nor his face is ever recognized, he's earned a sizeable reputation for exactly what he does; He has a habit of showing up where there's a need for help, displaying surprising competence despite first appearances, solving the provlem at hand, and departing. Said problems are most often of the kind that have to be solved by action, and the traveler with the black cat usually indicates that things are about to get better. Or, if you're the reason the problem is there, much, much worse. Fun Fact: Kichirou is incredibly fond of cats, and always travels with his own pet, a black-furred feline by the name of Kage.
