"Oh I thought I recognized you, you're one of those new superheroes aren't you" 'Oh great, so THAT'S what I'm becoming known for.' Emily thought to herself while grimacing, the man's clearly feigned enthusiasm mixing with the vocal distortion in a creepy cocktail. "I have to tell you I feel so much safer already knowing that you're around. Now uh, about the helmet," Finally, all small talk was rubbing Emily the wrong way. She just wanted to know if this guy wanted to do this the easy way or- "I must admit I really would rather leave it on you see I was in an accident some while ago and-" the hard way. The man fell into hysterics. 'Great,' Emily thought, 'I'm dealing with a loon.' "Sorry about that, but I never was a very good liar. The helmet is staying on, it would give away the game if I took it off now." He stepped toward her as his postured straightened. The masked man struck out intimidatingly against the backdrop of the abandoned alley. Emily stood tall as well, figuring she would be smart to embrace her reputation as a hero. "So you know of me then? Guess that makes sense, my dazzling light reaches to all corners of this city. I am Lumineer, the Performing Star," A dazzling light was cast from behind, illuminating her form. "and by the power this city has trusted in me I demand you stand down and remove that helmet at once." She struck a heroic pose, finger extended toward the man as her left hand came out from concealment to show the baseball bat she brandished. It gave a mighty TING as it came into contact with the hard pavement. "Sorry Buck-O, but this "game" of yours just got cancelled." Or at least, that's what it looked like to any observers. In reality Emily had gone to work crafting her illusions the second the man approached her. When he took his step forward she fell a step back, quickly stuffing away her wallet and taking a defensive position, both hands on her taser now clearly out in the open. She left an image of her body where she was while she manipulated the light to make herself functionally invisible. As she spoke, she threw her voice, causing it to come out of the illusion she left behind, as as she moved she silenced every sound that her physical form made. 'I need to keep him busy,' Emily thought to herself as she snuck around her foe. 'a monologue should do the trick.' Emily was never much of a hero, but she was a performer, she knew how to really ham it up, and she knew how to sell it. "Welcome to Lumineer's Theatre." She whispered silently.
