This was wasting her time and she had a delivery to make. It would damage her reputation if word got out that she was late in completing a deal. She was about to tell him quite colorfully to just bug off, but he made a move at just that moment and she had to act soon. She jumped out of his way as he aimed the kick at her legs, maneuvering herself so that she was behind him and positioning her blade at his back, barely grazing him but making sure he could feel it. "You're the one that grabbed me from midair and threatens to arrest me. Forgive me for getting defensive," she muttered. Nightshade’s dagger skidded off of Void’s armor making a metal against metal sound. It echoed through the alley, and he grabbed the arm before it had the time to get too far away. He pulled her towards him violently, and punched Nightshade in the stomach sending her flying through the portal, forgetting about where it lead for a second. But, was soon reminded as she slammed into his back sending him toppling. Though he caught himself, and pushed off his hand to get back to his feet. He looked back at Nightshade, and burst into laughter. “Ugh tell me you didn’t see that,” he said. She’d hoped that her knife would do some damage against the armor, but paled when she realized that it was useless. Nightshade didn’t expect him to turn around so quickly and punch her, and braced herself to hit the hard concrete. Instead, she found herself going through the alien’s portal and crashing into him before landing on her back. She stared up at him in bewilderment as he laughed. Was he actually fighting her? She was annoyed that he had managed to take her by surprise, but smiled smugly when her eyes fell on his back, where she could see that tiny wisps of smoke were starting to rise. The cut that she had made to break through the safe still hadn’t healed yet, and her blood had smeared against his back when she had crashed into him. Void slowly turned around to fully face Nightshade, and then sniffed. “Do you smell bacon? Man I just ate, and I already want bacon… What’s wrong with me? I swear some days I just don’t know what to do with myself,” he said shaking his head. As he had no idea that his back was smoldering from the acidic blood that was slowly eating away at his armor. “Well you going to sit there all day? Or are we going to take a little break? I could get juice boxes, or some fruit by the foot,” Void asked. Nightshade simply smiled and made no hurry in getting up. She casually dusted herself off as she looked at him. “You’ve got a little something on your back,” she stated with a smirk. “Hmm? What do you mean,” Void asked reaching a hand to his back. He pulled back seeing blood it slowly began to burn away at the armor on his hand. His eyes widening into a stare of, ‘what the fuck?’ He then realized why he was smelling bacon, and sighed as he shook his head. “Great another hole in my back... God dammit,” he said in a great deal of irritation. He looked at Nightshade, and approached her slowly, and waved his hand in a dismissive way. The portals shutting as he attempted to shake the blood off his hand. “Look I need to take care of this, and you’re obviously gonna get away. Zipties or not, so do me a favor. Can we be friends,” he said in an innocent way. This guy is just full of surprises, isn’t he? Nightshade thought, blinking at him incredulously. First he’d groped her, accused her of affiliating with traitors, then punched her through a damned portal… Now he wanted to be friends? She eyed him warily, wondering if he was serious. He would be a good ally, his portal-making skills would definitely come in handy in a tight situation, but Nightshade had always had a tough time trusting people. “Just get some calcium gluconate for your back. A hospital or laboratory should have it,” she said as she started to back away from him. “And if you really want to be friends… You’ll have to prove that you won’t kill me next time,” she added before making a dash towards the end of the alleyway. Calcium gluconate? Crap I really don’t wanna go into a hospital… Needles scare me, though I think I might know of a relatively abandoned lab. Not to mention the whole melting thing will be bad for my health, Void thought to himself rubbing his chin in thought. Forgetting about the acidic blood on his hand. He sighed in great aggravation at himself, as now he had to fully soak in the stuff. He then watched Nightshade leaving, and faintly smiled and nodded. “I promise next we meet, we’ll become the best of friends. I promise…. Ummm ,” Void said then remembered something important; “WAIT! I never got your name! Mines Void!” She had just turned the corner when she heard him shout out his name. Nightshade shook her head in amusement and kept running. Depending on how things turned out next time, she might give him her name then, or maybe not. For now though, she had to worry about a certain microchip in her pocket that she’d went through all that trouble to steal.
