It was not. It's main selling point was that is was written by a 15 year old, even though all the marketing and publication was done through his parents being overly proud of their first kid's novel attempt. Though maybe i'm being overly mean saying it was bad, it just wasn't at all worthy of the hype. Behind it all, it was a very standard, archetypical (I still don't know why people would market a book as archetypical) fantasy novel that has almost all of it's influences pulled from the great fantasy novels of our time. I could go on for a very long time about my pet peeves with the whole series and [i]why[/i] it isn't too great, but i'd rather not be [i]that[/i] guy who tells people what they can and can't like. Sure, my gripes with it are subjective, but the way it was marketed was objectively bad and i don't like that. All in all, no, I don't enjoy it and didn't think it was good at all.. but.. Yeah.. You can like it if you want. Not my place to judge :P
